Jesus, that song is...well, definitely upbeat and catchy, almost spastic (and will probably be stuck in my head for the rest of the day...dammit). Quite a tonal shift from the episodes it'll be following, that's for sure

I wonder what sort of animation will accompany this? Even though it's the Future Trunks arc, it'd feel really weird to have him being shown when such happy DANCE DANCE, YAY, EVERYONE SMILE! music is playing in the background. Feels like this ending might just star the Pilaf gang. Orrrr, Vegeta adding Yoka Yoka Dance to his repertoire along with the Bingo dance

If Yamamuro is in charge again I suspect the animation will be terrible. His animation and direction lack emotion, so I really can't see him being able to play to the strengths of the song.

Cuz I find myself being perfectly okay with it, if the ending is animated/choreographed anything like either of these.

Morita Takeshi did those commercials. He is either a Toei animator or a freelancer with heavy ties to Toei Animation.

Ooh, so that means there is at least the most remote chance of us getting something similar-ish.

I repeat, clashing with the episodes or not, if it's as enjoyable to watch as those things are, I think I'd be okay with that.

The song isn't bad, very ska like. It's has some nice moments, the chorus does get boring fast. The tone couldn't be the more opposite of the current arc... It certainly makes me want to dance, they were successful in that regard.

It depends how they'll cut it for the ending, assuming they'll do it. It certainly isn't awful.

I can already imagine Kid Trunks, Goten, Pilaf, Shu and Mai dance like an idol group in the new ending!
I think the song will serve to offset the abrupt change of tone that had the series. If we think Super mainly target children, I'm not surprised.

Absolutely...I mean, I'm often wrong with predictions, but in this case I loved Battle of Gods so at least for myself I was vindicated!

The song is shit but we pretty much knew that it would be once we knew a girly idol group was doing it.

It doesn't really matter though, it's just an ending song.

Yeah. We've known they're puffy since his debut in the anime's OP animation, though they don't always appear that way in every cut of the episodes themselves.

I don't mind it. Then again, I didn't mind the overly-cheery 2nd ending to Crystal S3, or Vow of Z. Obviously it's going to be a tonal shift, but these endings don't seem to be picked with any sort of consistency in mind. I guess it'll really depend on the visuals.

The "Batten" in their name doesn't mean "Cross/X" in this case. Batten is Hakata dialect for "but/however". The name was chosen to accentuate that they are from Fukuoka.

The song is fine, curious how they'll edit for the ending. It reminds me of 90's endings where they'll have chibified version of the characters running around the screen playing and chasing one another, etc.
