People really think a new reptilian species can evolve into a monkey race in a matter of 1,000 years huh... Looks like the teachings of biology have failed us.

Dragon Ball has never been close to biologically correct (see a race of monkey people who can both transform into huge monkeys and golden monkey people, not to mention red monkey gods and blue monkey people), but I'm not buying the theory of these Babari-people being proto-saiyans.

I'm thinking maybe Black somehow gets Babarians as henchmen or something.

I think the most likely thing is that these Barbarians are what everyone not named Goku and Vegeta fight.

Nice idea! From the card it looks like they are fighters.

It seems to be best hope right now for other characters but only current Trunks, Krillin and Piccolo right now.

I'm kinda with you. It might just be them taking an opportunity to stretch a simple explanation provided by Mr.Toriyama, into half an episode. Let's hope it's more than that, a participant new race is something I need in my Dragon Ball Universe.

The fact that we're already getting a Babarian in Heroes makes me feel like it will be a little more important than that.

This could be a build up for the next tournament too.
While we are in Universe 10, we will get to know about some races that may end up representing Universe 10 in the next tournament.

I think this is the best route. Instead of introduce a lot of new characters from the other 10 universes altogether right before the tournament, we could have the chance of meeting some of the potential different fighters, while the plot moves forward.

I'm loving how Universe 10 was brought to the table. The writting has been good so far.

I want to know more about the Barbarians then I do Black. They better do something important.

I don't think Saiyans evolved to/from them but maybe humans tried to create other humans or something by mixing their DNA up and that was the result.

Or maybe they take over the universe after the Saiyans or humans attack the wrong person.

Or maybe we're looking too much into it and they're just mindless creatures working for black who end up fighting the mindless Z fighters.

Maybe, foreshadowing is something I usually don't expect in Dragon Ball. They did do it with the fuel for the time-machine...
I'm assuming the next tournament is already a work in progression, plot and ideas wise. I doubt Mr.Toriyama left that bomb and didn't do anything with it, wait;... He did the exact same thing in the BoG movie with the 12 Universes tidbit, we just got lucky further Dragon Ball was made.

I won't mind if Trunks goes SSj Blue as long they don't over use the form for other characters. It's been a year since the forms where first introduced to us in ROF. I think enough time has pass for someone new to go SSj Blue.

The new information about EP 54 sounds very intriguing and promising. Anything that go into making the bond between Future Trunks deeper, I'm more than game for.
