Non-SSJ Majin Vegeta - Not just an action figure!
I was browsing DBZ Collection's card scans when I came across this:
http://www.dbzcollection.fr/cgjp/cartes ... 12_jpg.jpg
I seem to recall a (rather rare) action figure was made of Vegeta's Ma-jin state, in his base form, and how there was a lot of talk about that.
Interestingly enough, this image shows Vegeta as dead - a state he was not in when a Ma-jin. As well as the fact that he never attempted the Fusion Dance as a Ma-jin either!

Anyway, yes lots of mistakes are made with artwork. Not sure how they could make that mistake though...I mean, the fusion dance? Come on!
lmao, these cards are too fucking awesome: http://www.dbzcollection.fr/cgjp/cartes ... s/sp51.jpg

I have that figure, and the corrected Super Saiyan version, they're nice. I never knew about this card though. Honestly it looks more like someone just randomly wrote the M on rather than having it be there for accuracy.Conan the SSJ wrote:I heard of this before, years ago, I think it was in one of those cruddy beckett magazines. Interesting figure.
By the way does anyone know if the black haired Majin Vegeta figure is worth more than the yellow haired version? I don't want to sell it, just interested.

Well, an article in Pojo's second DBZ book release (so yeah, you should probably take this with a grain of salt), they said that the black haired Majin Vegeta was the one that was most released, the "special edition" gold haird Majin Vegeta was the second easiest to find (what with them being given along with subscribing to Beckett DBZ), and (in a stroke of irony) the corrected yellow haired Vegeta was the rarest of the three releases.TheJoo87 wrote:By the way does anyone know if the black haired Majin Vegeta figure is worth more than the yellow haired version? Really? Interesting well then I have to look for the gold haired version to complete the multicolored Vegeta hair trilogy.DaemonCorps wrote:Well, an article in Pojo's second DBZ book release (so yeah, you should probably take this with a grain of salt), they said that the black haired Majin Vegeta was the one that was most released, the "special edition" gold haird Majin Vegeta was the second easiest to find (what with them being given along with subscribing to Beckett DBZ), and (in a stroke of irony) the corrected yellow haired Vegeta was the rarest of the three releases.TheJoo87 wrote:By the way does anyone know if the black haired Majin Vegeta figure is worth more than the yellow haired version? Ya, I remember picking the black haired one up, then heard they were fixing it. Not long after that, I got the Gold haired one. Interesting that the misprint is the easiest to find.TheJoo87 wrote:Really? Hey guys, I think I know where this mistake comes from!! Check it out:

That's a screenshot from the Movie Dragon Box. I found it while watching the theatrical trailer for "Rebirth of Fusion!! Goku and Vegeta" on Disc 7. It appears as though they either cut-out—or had the same stock images as—the reel used for the trailer. If you rewind a bit (that particular screenshot was taken at 00:00:25;025) you can also see the same Gotenks pose featured on the card. (00:00:18;310)

Pretty neat stuff, huh? Makes you wonder how/why the particular animator(s) got confused. I'd check for the exact air date if I knew where to look, but seeing as this movie came out in 1995, and the series ended in 1996, it's possible that the episodes with Majin Vegeta were being drawn around the same time as the twelfth movie; that or they were doing it from memory, or looking at the wrong reference sheet.
I find it kind of funny that both the cards and the action figures imitated this error, as if no one realized the mistake...just goes to show you how well the manufacturers knew their own merchandise.

I wonder if the Ma-jin Vegeta figure was made after someone saw that screenshot, only to find out that he never existed in that form?
