Ah, fair enough.Doctor. wrote:The same site leaked a Future Gohan screenshot a few days before that specific episode aired, so it's at least somewhat trustworthy.
Very interesting that Zamasu has the "evil" outlines around his eyes.

Kitano is working on 57 with Karasawa. I'm guessing 58 will either be Yashima or Onishi, possibly working with Naoi Masahiro or with Wanpak.Alee9977 wrote: So, who's after Karasawa?? Kitano seems to be the one because his last episode was 51 and he is having 8 weeks, or maybe Yashima, if he is the supervisor of 58 it has to be his best episode on the series with those 8 weeks, his best episode so far is 3 so I hope he can do an even better episode.
Also I'm excited for Shida's cut, I also hope Futoshi Higashide is making an action scene in this episode, this man has been on every episode of the arc right?? I love him
Who knows, maybe we'll see a new Supervisor now that episodes can have upwards of 7 weeks for animation. When should we get info from a magazine on this month's episodes?
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
6-9th is when we usually get info for episode staff, titles and summaries.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
Are we sure we have 7 weeks of animation? There isn't a possibility that they let Shida animate earlier because he's Shida?ArchedThunder wrote:Kitano is working on 57 with Karasawa. Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
Well, Shida can't work without a base, the plot of the episode must be ready, the storyboards too. Maybe he started working a few days before the other animators, but I don't think he had like weeks of adventage.kinisking wrote:Are we sure we have 7 weeks of animation? More often than not--even if he isn't credited--Shida Naotoshi will do his own storyboards. That or simply completely ignore the storyboard when it comes to his layouts.

Yuya Takahashi aka Mini-Shida was the top key animator on ROF Special. It would be great if we would take the role and join the animation surpervisors team, in the future.ArchedThunder wrote: Who knows, maybe we'll see a new Supervisor now that episodes can have upwards of 7 weeks for animation.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Today is the day Shida makes his intervention again for Dragon Ball! I'm so excited even if it is just a little bit I'll be fine with it.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
This episode has had great animation so far.
Some of the best in a weekly DB series period.
EDIT: Too bad the quality of the first half didn't keep up, though. lol.

HOLY SHIT, THAT SHIDA CUT WAS LONGER THAN I EXPECTED, A SOLID EPISODE, ONE OF THE BEST THAT WE NEVER HAD
kill me

Episode 57

Animation supervisor
Kitano Yukihiro Karasawa Yuichi
Assistant animation supervisor
Manabe Shuuichiro
Key animator
Kitano Yukihiro Higashide Futoshi Shida Naotoshi Karasawa Yuichi Abe Kazuhiko Mura Shuntaro Yashima Yoshitaka Maru Animation
2nd key animator
Tu Yeong-chaek Sato Tomoko Ishii Tamaki Matsuo Shunsuke TAP A-Line

Well that was balls to the wall insane for that first half. It is no small feat to produce that much consistent action on a good schedule let alone one like Super's.
Shida's cut was absolutely incredible, though short as he did say it would be. Will have to recheck the rest of the scenes to see who animated what, but it looked like Higashide for the other standout moment.
Definitely in my top 3 episodes of Super so far, anyway!

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
Shida's cut was awesome, but even before that the fight scenes were incredibly solid and well done. Major props to everyone involved in this episode. They delivered big time when Super really needed to.
Spoiler:
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
Thats actually way less animators than I thought there would be in this episode. That shida cut was godly, he is the best for a reason. Karasawa did great too.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
Shida. Good. Lord. Shida. Wait, did he just key animate his part himself? Or did he do the key animation and inbetween animation of the whole scene?
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #56]
Is the pretty great first half + not the whole studio packing in to make that first half show that Super's schedule is in a better condition? Or at least, better enough to have more consistent animation with less people/ animators?

Wow, the Shida scene was incredible, it was short but really good, I want to see what the haters say about the animation this time
