Something that stood out, is the characters in the screenshot in the top right of the first page. If you look, under the name 'DenDenDen', the character seems much smaller than the others. And at the bottom left of the second page, you can see what look like a child Namek and (what I'll assume is) a child Saiyan.
If you look at the bottom right of the first page, you see those characters again, but they look like they're in a teenage state. Then on the second you see the female Saiyan in what looks like her adult state.

Do you think there'll be a system of 'growing-up'? I personally would enjoy that to no end. That'd be a new and appealing feature that no MMORPG has yet to offer (as far as I know).

Also, seeing this in a Japanese V-Jump and not a Korean gaming magazine exclusively, shows that the title will most likely be brought to some other country than Korea, probably Japan. Since we've been getting every load of Dragon Ball games that's been released for the past few years, I think that we (at least I) can assume to a degree that this will hit the U.S. at some point in time, regardless of how well it sells in either country. (Korea/Japan)

Yea.... I saw this...

There is no reason for it... I will have nothing to do with this... won't scan it when I see ads in magazines.... I'm staying away from this one.... no anime MMORPGs are needed...(who the fuck am I kidding, if there was an One Piece one, I would jump on it like the fanboy I am)

One Piece MMO!? That idea would be GOLDEN! I'd love that! We would have to have a DaizEX Pirate Crew! :D

ONE PIECE? GIVE ME! Kidding! Anyway, we should form a DaizEX guild (or something) if this goes out in english. And I would never thought I see the day Akira Toriyama work on DragonBall again, I guess he is relaxed enough to continue with DragonBall.

Just dropping in to give a bit more information on this.

Yes, Dragon Ball Online is real, not an April Fools Joke. V-Jump is a respected Japanese gaming magazine, and the scan is legitimate. It has been confirmed by other reliable Japanese gaming news sources, and more importantly, by a Bandai Namco Games press release.
http://www.bandainamcogames.co.jp/press ... 52-081.pdf (requires a Japanese font pack).

The game is being developed by NTL and published by Bandai Namco Games for Windows PCs, and will be released in South Korea in Summer 2007, and some time in 2008 in Japan.

The game world is set in the future of the original series, and players will be able to create their own characters, and interact with main characters who appeared in the original, as well as new, original characters who live in the Dragon Ball world, and will be a gameplay exprience that can only be expressed as an MMO.

On top of that, it is stated that Akira Toriyama has complete supervision over the story and character designs.

It is being developed in Korea to take advantage of their experience with developing online games [MMORPGs are much more popular in Korea than they are in Japan].

More information is scheduled to be released through the Bandai Namco Games website: http://www.bandainamcogames.co.jp/

More info:

Not much news online yet, traditionally, the gaming mags get the news first, and its published online a bit later.

I also uploaded some better quality versions of the logo and screenshots:

The game uses almost the exact same User Interface as World of Warcraft.

Oh lord... It's Kamehameha Chrono...! :? I can't wait to see if Mr.Toriyama will throw in his Yangus character design...

And I guess, for whatever reason, Piccolo and Goku decided to come to the future with Trunks...? Maybe to examine the inexplicable return of the Saiya-jins...

Just found this, http://www.ntl-inc.com/ - the developer of the game. On the Korean section of the site, you can see the story summary and some screenshots in the Projects section.

Also, Toriyama apparantly has complete creative control over the project, supervising not only the character designs and story, but even the buildings and scenery.

Anyway, this should help clarify some stuff... Translated bit of info from the V-Jump scan.
STAGE:
It was Age 784 when Goku snuck away from the Tenkaichi Budokai with Uub. Then, about 200 years later, in Age 1000, the stage is set for "DBO"!! One day, during rigorous training, you sense a disaster strike the world!! The Earth is divided into parts by the Dark Eye, a lively group of scoundrels, whose mastermind is a total enigma... With the guidance of Time Patrol Trunks, who suddenly appeared, you set out on a journey to reclaim the peace which has been lost. On your adventure, you will meet many other players who have the same goal. Together, can you overcome your limits, defeat the mastermind, and save the world!?
Time Patrol Trunks is written out in katakana as タイム・パトロール・トランクス (Taimu Patorooru Torankusu). The Dark Eye is 闇の目玉 (Yami no Medama), which is literally Eyeball of Darkness.

It's like a dream... I just can't believe it...

Man, the thought of making a character... customizing his attacks, walking around the Dragon World with a group, and running into another group... how much you wanna bet the Tenkaichi Budokai will be utilized..? I'm simply speechless.

There are a lot of great possibilities. The Tenkaichi Budokai seems like a good subject for a PVP system. Time travel and space travel could also be utilized down the line for new content. Since MMORPGs tend to flow in story arcs, maybe after this business with the Dark Eye group is over, we'll get some new content.

About Time Patrol Trunks, I'm not sure if he's Mirai Trunks, a grown up Chibi Trunks, or maybe a Trunks from an all new timeline. I wonder how this falls into the canon, and if it conflicts / replaces GT, or if its an AU sequel. Only time will tell. It kinda sounds like an official continuation to DBZ, considering Toriyama's level of involvement and the complete lack of referance to GT in the setup.

Infinite possibilities! I would say the best news of all is that Akira Toriyama has some involvement/is the main man on this one... since there is stuff not done by Akira Toriyama that we all know about and has already been mentioned that... well... just isn't as good.

Heh, fanfic authors and fans will be able to make their characters from the looks of it... which is nothing short of amazing! I'm pumped... can't wait to hear more.

And to think... I nearly gave up on DBZ until a little over a year ago when a writing friend of mine brought me back to it.

Great minds think alike.

I have a doubt we'll be seeing this over in English-speaking nations, but should we, I wouldn't get to excited. My friends and I wasted a good part of the end of our adolescents living in assorted MMOs. Korea is the Bandai of MMORPGs. As a country, they release several a year, with different, unique, and very interesting themes. But they're almost always, quite simply, cow shit. And DB is already going to be a tough property to make an MMO too, so I'm going to go ahead and put my expectations very low this time.

I wonder how much it may cost, or if it is free. And if it will ever be translated in English for U.S. and E.U. releases.

Chances are, if they're trying for a WoW-style MMO (which, as it seems, they are), it'll have a monthly charge on it. That's the only possible way to keep patching, adding content, and moderating the game. And I doubt we'll be seeing it translated. But we may.
