About the person who asked about the mentors, I think is going to be the same mentors there were in XV1+new ones (Whis? Cooler? King Kai?!?!), but I feel some of them will get updated to their latest appareance (Like Goku or Vegeta to their RoF clothes) and some will get new techniques too (I hope Goku teaches you Dragon Fist), and for characters that have a lot of techniques like Frieza or Cell, they might add more than 4 lessons.
Rinsankajugin wrote:Yeah, it seems variations are still a thing, and Vegeta has 11 of 'em. Majin Vegeta is a separate character and not a variation. Imperfect Cell seems like a really fun character to play as.
As for other characters variations, from what I can tell:
18: 3
SSJ4 Vegeta: 1
^Marked only these because I didn't want to make the post too long.
Let's hope there is more than these, I would be dissapointed if we didn't get Slug with his Helmet or some more Teen Gohan and Kid Gohan costumes. Wasn't there a pic of Cell absorbing 17 and 18 where 18 was wearing the clothes she was wearing after stealing that shop, and didn't SSJ4 Vegeta have 2 costume slots in XV1? I feel these aren't all costumes there are.
Yeah, SSJ4 Vegeta had two slots in XV. It's funny, out of all three SSJ4, Vegeta was the only one to get more than one slot and he was a damn pre-order bonus character...
I hope that's not the case this time around.

Hopefully the character select slots aren't just changed around moves and are just outfits... I'm still holding out on skill sets being edited like CaC have.

Lately I was thinking about soundtracks during fights. In Xenoverse were all the soundtracks fixed to a specific stage or quest and it kinda sucked. I mean, if you want to (re)play a specific scenario (Offline-/Player-vs-Player-Mode) the music should fit. But if you replay for example Goku (or Piccolo) vs Radditz on the Pod Landing Stage (a serious battle to the death) you always have this annoyingly cheerful soundtrack playing. Nothing against that soundtrack, it's nice and would probably fit a little sparring session between Goku and Kid Gohan, but it doesn't fit for "real" battles.
In all the XV2 trailers there were no options for this as well. It's not really a big deal (and I know I could just play other songs and soundtracks via other media), but still, it would be nice if you could choose the battle music in the game itself. Especially since there were already games where you could do that (Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3 for example).

From what I've seen, Presets aren't going. They have to be the worst aspect of the game. XV finally had Vegeta's Saiyan Saga damaged outfit, but I can't use it because he has weak stats, an awful Ultimate, and that horrendous Z-Soul that basically stops you from using Galick Gun.

I completely agree, that's what I really miss most about the older games. But yeah, chances are I'm probably just gonna listen to my Spotify playlist while playing XV2 like I did playing XV.

I never really noticed the soundtrack to be honest but in this day and age I'm sure we can all just use our own playlist while playing. Though I never found it to be annoying it was just there.

Sometimes I listen to Legends and GT Final Bout soundtracks while playing XV. Loved the music on those games.
People on gamefaqs are theorising the character slots that are currently blank are timebreaker versions of the characters they are near which could be true due to where the slots are. Oh god please no!
Yeah, it's probably just the Time Breaker versions of them. Also, there's 3 slots between Goku and Goku (GT), which could be Goku (Super Saiyan God), possibly Goku (Resurrection 'F'), and then what? Plus, there's an empty slot between Goku (GT) and Goku (Super Saiyan 4). This is so confusing...

Time breaker is basically Villainous mode in this game, so like the last game it'll probably be a preset.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

In Z, the characters were so depended on Goku that they couldn't go an episode without mentioning him in some way even by hoping he will arrived, get better, training to get stronger, our last hope, being like him, ect. Goku was wanked to hell in Z, even when he wasn't in the room and everyone else was secondary to him. In fact, this was a major issue Goku had, which is why he didn't want to do anything in the Buu Saga.

If all slots are arranged that the same characters are together (for example: Kid Gohan - Youth Gohan (Cell-Saga) - Teen Gohan (Boo-Saga) - Future Gohan) than probably under Trunks will be Kid Trunks. Under Goku will be SSJG Goku und under him Goten (because Goten was next to Kid Trunks in XV1 as well). Then next would be SSJGSSJ Goku under him GT Goku and under him SSJ4 Goku and so on.
Because all Vegetas are also together just like all Freezers, all Cells and all Boos.
If this pattern is used with every character it should be possible to guess some characters.
For example: under Majin Vegeta is probably SSJGSSJ Vegeta (or GT Vegeta). And under Yamucha and over Saibaiman is an empty slot wich COULD be Chaozu because I can't figure out who would fit into the "Kuririn-Yamucha-Tenshinhan-Class").
Edit.: Never mind. That's problably Radditz (Raddiz = Saibaiman < Nappa < Vegeta and so on)

That would be a safe assumption, but it also falls apart right at the start. There were 3 versions of Trunks in XV that will be carried over to XV2: kid Trunks, GT Trunks, and Future Trunks. So unless they're playing Tetris and allowing different shaped character blocks, there's not enough space for all the versions of every character the same way they organized Vegeta, for example.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)
Or they simply show their true colors and add GT Trunks as the pallet swap of Future Trunks that he basically was in the first place. Which would be lame btw.

See, this is why I hate character variations. It turns the roster into an absolute mess.

But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Thats why it could be villianous yamcha as we saw him in a scan/trailer. Again hope I'm wrong but id rather expect the worst and be surprised than be expecting 8 unique characters and getting 8 purple skins for characters we already had in xv1.
Oh, you're right. So... what could be there? Wasn't there something about Timebreaker Yamucha? If those Timebreaker Characters actually have their own slots. (Edit: too slow... hehe...)
And the "Gohan line" confuses me. In the latest vid there is: Kid Gohan -> Super Saiyajin Youth Gohan -> empty (probably Teen Gohan) -> empty -> Future Gohan -> empty -> Piccolo
So Saiyaman has his own slot? Pan somewhere in there? Timebreaker Youth or Teen Gohan? Timebreaker Future Gohan? Super/RoF Gohan? A "What-if Gohan"?
That last "empty" probably can't be Nail because I would put him after Piccolo (or the lame version: put him in as costume swap of Piccolo).
