Super Announcement at NYCC??

Anyone think Dragon Ball Super gets an official announcement today at the NYCC Funimation Industry Panel?

12:30-1:30 PM EST. I feel if they didn't have some kind of huge announcement they would of saved One Piece Film Gold for that Panel. It will be a huge failure for Funimation if they don't announce Kai or Super. It will make no sense not holding back Film Gold if they don't have something even bigger to announce!!

Yes that was very odd. The only thing I can think of, of why they didn't wait is they didn't want something overshadowing it and the only thing that can literally over shadow any anime is Dragon Ball.

But then again FUNi are a weird company so who knows.

If it's coming out next summer as shown by those toys, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets announced here.

If it doesn't get announced today I don't expect any kind of announcement until next year. The conventions remaining this year don't attract enough kind of attention for that kind of announcement!!

Dragon Ball Kai's dub was first revealed in a conference call and then confirmed in a blog post, I believe.

Funimation are a bit odd when it comes to announcements. I wouldn't expect anything.

True but the Dragon Boxes were announced at Otakon so. it is possible they would announce it at a big convention. I also believe the last two Z movies were announced at Industry Panels??

Like I said, I'm not betting one way or another as far as Super (or even the rest of Kai) is concerned. FUNi has a tendency to either announce stuff at conventions, or to just drop it on us out of nowhere via other sources. You never know what or when to expect it coming from them.

I'm just glad to know about the panel in general so I know to pay attention for anything they might announce, Dragon Ball or otherwise.

I would say the chances of a Super dub announcement are significantly higher than a Kai Buu saga announcement. Although a Super announcement would make sense. With the toys and manga already coming 2017 is set to be a massive year for Dragon Ball, a Super dub would be like the cherry on top.

I doubt any Dragon Ball announcement will be made today.

I gave up a long time ago. The One Piece Film Gold announcement yesterday was oddly timed, like Baggie_Saiyan said, it could be that they don't want it being overshadowed during today's panel, though their announcements are totally random at times, with no hype attached to them whatsoever.

It has been a full year since that infamous "Super Panel" I'll never forget Justin started by stating it wasn't licensed *facepalm*.

Seeing the toys have gotten licensed, I would hope they announce it today. Yet FUNi never ceases to pop my bubble, so I don't even hype myself up anymore haha.

Not happening. If something big was happening FUNi usually tease a tweet before the panel, but the tweet was a normal "hey if your here we've got a panel starting" tweet.
