If Trunks gains a new form, will it be the rumored Super Saiyan White?

If they were going to give him a god form I think it'd be a different color, probably white since he already has blue hair and is a half-breed and not a full blooded Saiyan. It'd probably be his version of SSJB like Black's Rose is a version of it as well. I think Toei's set on giving everyone a unique form now a days, but a SSJW vs Black would be like white vs black, good verses evil, overcoming darkness etc.. Trunks can finally save his own timeline and probably won't have to worry about searching for Goku again.

I doubt it. But considering that Future Trunks in Super already has blue hair, I guess giving him the Super Saiyan Blue transformation, which was my original thought, would be kind of redundant. So now that I think about, they will probably give Future Trunks his own specific next tier transformation to make him more unique, but I don't think it will be the speculated and rumoured Super Saiyan White.

Actually you are the one who misinterpreted the information.

Toriyama thought to give Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan a white color but it would clash with the next villain (Freeza), then he decided to go with blue and save the white color (not known whether for a new form or a next villain now) for a next time.

I think it's unlikely Trunks will get to SSGSS. He only got to SSJ2 in his timeline so he's probably nowhere near as strong as Goku and Vegeta.

I'm not sure he will reach SSJ3 since his SSJ2 is on par with SSJ3, it'd probably be wasting energy, not to mention unless it gets retconned that he needs the same training Goku did or fusion.

In the manga. In the anime, Trunks' Super Saiyan 2 isn't stronger than Super Saiyan 3 in multipler.

So what? Since when is that problem? If that bothers you, then (one of) the series' central theme of surpassing one's limitations should bother you as well. Transformations aren't a matter of numbers. Goku trained for 7 years? Fine. That's Goku. He's not Trunks, hasn't been through the same as him. Trunks hasn't even transformed into SSJ3, so why try to pretend there's a standard requirement to begin with?

Tranformations exist for entertaintment/drama/emotional reaction. They are not bound by numbers or mathematical formulas.

Yeah, that's true. I just find it annoying that SSJ3 was hyped to be this amazing transformation that pretty much effected the planet and could be felt from other world. Only for this..new transformation to probably be stronger than even SSJB and SSJR. It would have been more simple to have gone with GT's power route.

3 was massively overhyped when it first appeared but then accomplished very little in the series thereafter.

This new Trunks form if it is a new form, it is hard to say is stronger then what we've seen since Goku managed to put up a good fight in SSGSS, all this form is doing is like Goku said in the NEP gonna put up a good fight long enough for Goku and Vegeta to heal and get back.

Personally I call it SsjSsjg (Super Saiyan Super Saiyan God). Instead of turning ssj and adding God ki, you already use god ki in base and then add extra normal ki to perform a common ssj making it this a new way of transforming. Basically you lose in terms of ki control but you gain extra power and speed. Obviously, all these are speculation and we should wait to learn the truth but I think that we should officially consider it a new level since aura+hair changed
