Hi guys <^_^>
I was just recently browsing youtube and I found a fanmade remastered clip of the Frieza saga with dubbed voices and Japanese audio. Of cource this isn't from funimation's next releaced boxset but it's really cool all the same.

Well, now Widescreen Set collectors know what they're in for!
The Japanese music really changed the tone of that segment. I remember it being a lot more dramatic in the dub.

I don't think this exact music was played during this scene...?

I like how it's just random Japanese BGM that is totally unrelated to the scene pasted on top of the FUNi dub and the Faulconer BGM.
I wish FUNi would pursue this idea to give me another reason to never touch the remastered debacle sets

It's isn't since it's fanmade, I think the creator used the music track in that scene where Gohan was being chased by the sabertooth tiger.

Yeah, it's definitely the wrong track being played. I'm pretty sure the song originally used was Kyoufu no Ginyu Tokusentai. And believe me it was dramatic sounding.

The music was the best part.

Like I said before it was fanmade, the real dubbing attempt by funimation with the correct track will be 10 times better than that

Princess, all I'm gonna say is...wow. That was a pretty bad vid, no offense intended to you for bringing it up here, it's just...! If the maker of that vid was trying to give off the idea of the quality of the dub w/t Japanese BGM, he failed pretty horribly. If anything, all this vid did for me was make me look forward to seasons 2 and 3 even more than I already am, because I know it's gonna be pretty special audio-wise in having writing fixed, proper VAs inserted, and the exact same music that should be in the Japanese version. I'm gonna pretend I never watched that anyhow, but thanks for giving me more reason to love FUNi's work on the "Revised" dub. ^^;

Now that you bring it up, do you think that Funimation will keep their script from their first effort.
Or make a new one and re-act it all over again. Because the way they decided to re-act and use most of the old Saiyan/Namek saga script for their Vegeta saga boxset makes me think that they won't make a new script

What I think they'll do (based off their treatment of the scripts of the Saiyan/Namek saga episodes and very minor revising in the Saiyan saga's new dub of season 1) is basically what they've said they'll do and what seems most logical on their part. They'll leave the TV Broadcast track completely as it is, merely no longer having Rock the Dragon as a theme and probably have that Ultimate Uncut tune for the ending sequence. As for the dub w/t Japanese music, we'll have proper voice actors redubbing characters who were done by different people back then (Burter, Oolong, Ox King, Ginyu, Narrator, Mr. Popo, Tien, and probably Vegeta in the early episodes due to Sabat's attempt-imitating of Brian Drummond) and there'll be redubbing of certain things to fix mistakes (such as noticeable inaccurate lines, "next dimension" stuff, and probably things the producers of the season sets just don't think were voiced very well back then). They aren't doing from-scratch redubbing, just what's (in their opinions) necessary. I'm still wondering how the TV Broadcast version of the Ginyu episodes will be handled, considering how they were out of sync with the Japanese version and has some issues with episode 68.

What were the problems with episode 68?

I can't explain in proper words, mainly because I no longer own the DVD containing it. Maybe someone else can help?
