Goku Black being the strongest is certainly a comment to create contention, and considering that Merged Zamasu and SSJB Vegetto are a thing, I'm sure there people that are going to misconstrue that comment and start saying shit like, "Goku Black>>>>Omni King>>>>>SSBJ Goku/Vegeta>>>>>Zamasu >>>>Everyone else" etc. I think we wait and see how Merged Zamasu vs Vegetto plays outs, as we may get some answers to some questions, including what Vegetto apparent weakness may be, too.

Not really since Merged Zamasu and Vegetto are fused characters made up of the strongest people in the franchise, so they're both on the cheap side and don't really count.

He is still closest thing to word of god, especially since Toriyama only talked about power in regarding to Beerus and Whis. Also, the episode supports that Black may have surpassed Vegeta given that his clones were able to hurt Vegeta when before Black couldn't even touch Vegeta. And he isn't really speculating since he's a producer who actually works on the show.

NO COMPARISON IS MADE BETWEEN MERGED ZAMASU AND BEERUS.
I don't know where you guys are getting this from. Goku Black is the strongest fighter if we leave out Beerus. It implies (not states) that Merged Zamasu is the strongest fighter in general, though described as a "cheat character".

And even beyond that, he said that Merged Zamasu has UNRIVALED power to beat down his enemies and called him a cheat character.
If anything, the only thing that could possibly be concluded from this magazine is that Merged Zamasu is stronger than Beerus, not the other way around, and even then, there is still room for doubt.
The producer's comments were way too vague relative to that.

Not in the comment about who's the strongest, you actually take the producers word claiming that Goku Black is the strongest besides Beerus? Merged Zamasu is literally a more broken character than Black is. He didnt mention them because he probably didnt want to put in fused characters, Black being stronger than a fusion of him and an immortal is ridiculous.

The producer didn't compare Merged Zamasu and Beerus, that's 100% true. But that is exactly the point that confirms Merged Zamasu < Beerus, since Toriyama, some months ago, said he'd have told us right away when Beerus was going to get surpassed. So, since no statements were made in the previous episode nor in that interview, I believe Beerus is stronger than Merged Zamasu.
