Given the reactionary shot of Goku and Beerus at the end this is likely the case.

I think that indicates exactly the opposite. They know from the start what are the stakes involved. We see no manga panels with the other team members, so the team doesn't seem to be gathered at that point. It also explains why 17 is there, who isn't exactly close to the others.

He could have just taken the strongest fighters in his universe because it is the match against other gods of destructions in a sense..
You need the best you can get..
They most definitely didn't know the the stakes would be so damn high

They had to know because otherwise Beers wouldn't know how many fighters he would need to bring.

I'm sure the other Gods are really happy that Champa and Beers decided to hold a tournament of their own, which is the reason they now fight for their lives

We have to assume it is 10 for each as why would any god of destruction choose less than 10 when it automatically puts them at an obvious disadvantage.

Something makes me think there will be a tiny God. Since there's a huge one, the opposite Universe's version will be super small.

I hope this arc will be really long. Not only cause they're changing the OP for this saga, but there's also no way they could fit all of this in the short amount of episodes that they've been doing. Plus they've been building this since the Champa arc, no way they'd make it so short.

It seems like they really gotta pee but telling the story comes first..

This arc should substance wise surpasses namek saga, they really need to not rush it in any way this time..

Super's pacing is on par with most modern anime that doesn't follow a manga or is seasonal. They're short, to the point, and don't waste time. The days of mega arcs are over.

I'm thinking the stakes for Gokus universe are different for everyone else's as punishment for their various rule infractions. Like I bet for everyone else it's a fun tournament but Beerus is probably in hot sh*t right now so it's a must win situation.

There has to be many rounds as well as there is 12 universes. I think 35-50 episodes.

What if U6 vs U7 tournament finals ends up in a draw? Having the tourney ending in a draw would be a very unexpected ending, with that u could have them collect the SDBs and restore the destroyed universes.

The super Dragon Balls are the prize. Grand Priest is probably taking care of everything so he probably got them to give out as prize to whoever won the tournament. It doesn't make sense to go search for the prize only after the tournament starts.

The super Dragon Balls are the prize. Grand Priest is probably taking care of everything so he probably got them to give out as prize to whoever won the tournament. It doesn't make sense to go search for the prize only after the tournament starts.

Wait... Is it confirmed super Dragonballs are the prize?
Because according to my knowledge there is no prize as of yet.
The people holding the tournament don't even know about super Dragonballs, at least we are not shown it's common knowledge
