Eh, did Gohan prove himself any more competent than Goten and Trunks during the boo arc? Plus, the fact that Goten says for them to stop treating him like a kid implies that age is a pretty big factor if not the only factor.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:I think it has less to do with their age and more to do with the fact that they're proven incompetent. Although what you're saying does make some sense. Competence probably is a factor.

His main problem in that arc was when he did exactly what you're suggesting, he let Goten and Trunks handle the situation rather than finishing Boo. Also, Gohan was much more competent when he was younger, if weaker.kinisking wrote:Eh, did Gohan prove himself any more competent than Goten and Trunks during the boo arc?

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I would like to see a DB game include what-if costumes for characters, even as DLC. I mean, Xenoverse 2 could make some free DLC packs with some costumes fairly easily, I'd imagine. Things like the Turtle Hermit Gi on Vegeta and Future Trunks, Bulma's armor model on Trunks and Goten, Time Breaker armor on Piccolo, or even entirely original costumes.
Though I'm not expecting this, I haven't lost hope in Dimps yet what with the recently revealed content of XV2's DLC Pack 2.

This might be an unpopular opinion also but I feel like the fanbase should be able to suggest Filler ideas to Toei. Some ideas this fanbase makes are really great, and it's not like it impacts the main story anyways. Toei would be able to choose the ideas they like, and it would save them time.

I'm afraid that's too much material to filter out in their schedules! You usually aim for less voices in your writing staff to contain the focus easier. They'd wrestle with too many concepts at once, even if they're only considering what they find decent. I'm speaking realistically anyway since Dragon Ball features an audience consisting of the millions. There's no guarantee they'll acknowledge (or read) the international ideas either since we're not the direct market.

I don't mean that they should go on youtube or something and follow suggestions. They can have an offical avenue for submitting suggestions.ABED wrote:I'm not a fan of them listening directly to fans, plut I think this idea might open them up to lawsuits.kinisking wrote:This might be an unpopular opinion also but I feel like the fanbase should be able to suggest Filler ideas to Toei. Very good point. What if they have online submissions, and the fans are allowed to upvote the ideas they like? Then they can look at the most upvoted ideas?Nejishiki wrote:I'm afraid that's too much material to filter out in their schedules! Still not a fan of listening directly. It comes off as pandering. Fans are like patients. Doctors should listen to their symptoms but never let a patient self diagnose and certainly not treat themselves.

I'd agree with the nail story arcs, but I think it's fine for filler

I'm not sick of Conroy, but Hamill's voice is VERY different, but I do think Ayres would be an interesting choice.ekrolo2 wrote:Anyone but Mark Hamill would be good at this point, I'm so sick of him and Conroy.Doctor. wrote:Who else thinks Chris Ayres would do a good Joker?

I would say Hamill still has it in him but Conroy sounds so phoned in and bored nowadays. The only reason it works in Justice League Action is because Batman not caring anymore is kind of his shtick and where most of the comedy about him comes from.ABED wrote:I'm not sick of Conroy, but Hamill's voice is VERY different, but I do think Ayres would be an interesting choice.

I don't see it that way. I think he clearly enjoys the role. Hamill's good, but no longer great. He puts forth great effort, but his voice doesn't have the youth or quite the energy it used to. It's very evident in The Killing Joke. It's very similar to Nozawa's performance as Goku in Kai.ekrolo2 wrote:I would say Hamill still has it in him but Conroy sounds so phoned in and bored nowadays. Bruce Greenwood did a pretty good Batman.ekrolo2 wrote: Anyone but Mark Hamill would be good at this point, I'm so sick of him and Conroy.
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I don't know if I'd agree on him lacking energy, he's got lots of that in Justice League Action where his Joker is meant to be snappier and more energetic overall. Conroy hasn't been good since City imo. His Batman sounds the same regardless if he's being shot in the balls or having a heart to heart. He, Nozawa and James Earl Jones have really gotten bad in their most iconic roles imo.ABED wrote:I don't see it that way. I think he clearly enjoys the role. Hamill's good, but no longer great. Him and Dimaggio were great in Red Hood, its criminal neither of them have reprised the roles more often.Bansho64 wrote:Bruce Greenwood did a pretty good Batman.ekrolo2 wrote: Anyone but Mark Hamill would be good at this point, I'm so sick of him and Conroy.

To be fair, Nozawa and James Earl Jones are a bit older than Hamill and have been doing their craft a bit longer than him. I'd give them more props than Hamill considering that they were doing some of their really great stuff when they were about the same age that Hamill is now. I mean, James Earl Jones literally did Mufasa when he was 61. That's pretty darn awesome.ekrolo2 wrote:He, Nozawa and James Earl Jones have really gotten bad in their most iconic roles imo.
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Nozawa and Jones are both pretty bad as Goku and Vader now imo. Jones' Vader sounds like someone dragged him out of bed and Nozawa has good variety for her various roles but not inside one role. She can make Goku sound distinct from Black and Gohan and Goten but her Goku almost exclusively has this high pitched squeal that used to be reserved for goofy scenes almost 100% of the time. The only scene where Goku doesn't sound like this is in 61 when he starts beating on Black.Bansho64 wrote:To be fair, Nozawa and James Earl Jones are a bit older than Hamill and have been doing their craft a bit longer than him.
