You can say the same about the anime which has Black being distracted by Mai's flash bang grenade when he can sense human ki.emperior wrote:It seems like Black can pick up on Mai's ki so I can't see how that could possibly work, unless Mai dies or gets so injured her Ki can't be detected anymore.

I really can't think of a way Toyotaro can save Trunks and Mai at this point (maybe Kaioshin and Gowasu?)

But in the manga it looks like only Mai and Trunks are still alive on Earth, while in the anime Black couldn't pinpoint their location due to the other earthlings spreaded all over the world covering their ki.Freeza9000 wrote:You can say the same about the anime which has Black being distracted by Mai's flash bang grenade when he can sense human ki.emperior wrote:It seems like Black can pick up on Mai's ki so I can't see how that could possibly work, unless Mai dies or gets so injured her Ki can't be detected anymore.

Which I find stupid since couldn't Black just nuke the entire place where the humans are covering the place with their ki?emperior wrote:But in the manga it looks like only Mai and Trunks are still alive on Earth, while in the anime Black couldn't pinpoint their location due to the other earthlings spreaded all over the world covering their ki.

If you can't find them because of all the Ningen you were supposed to kill are still alive then what the hell are you doing with your life?
Sometimes I just think Anime Black is too busy drinking tea and looking at himself in the mirror. He thinks he has all the time in the world.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Trunks' death will be permanent if he does die, and Toyotaro didn't hint for the manga to be that much different, so I don't believe he will die.LightBing wrote:Last chapter ended with Trunks facing death with the hand of God on his face. It's a dire situation and I personally don't see any plausible way out, I predict he will die.
Why? Because odds are massively against him.
Black has no more reasons to keep him alive, having brought out the power he needs. The Black-Zamasu combo is too great to defeat, even if Trunks gets the "Rage" transformation, it's extremely unlikely he would be able to hold them off for the minimum of hours it should take before Goku and Vegeta return.
This exact moment in the anime is the worst there, by far in my opinion. There, they didn't even bother to come up with an explanation for Trunks survival and escape. I take that a bit personally, it's doesn't show any respect for the viewers. At least with smoke bombs they bothered coming up with something.
That's why I'm concerned about the resolution of this situation here.
What does everyone think? The only less bad explanation I can imagine is Black and Zamasu going Bond villain and torturing Trunks until Goku and Vegeta conveniently arrive just in time.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I will say that if Trunks happens to die in the manga version of the Zamasu arc and ends up sacrificing himself against Zamasu and Black, I think that would put a well way to end to his character arc imo.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Yo if he blew himself up like Majin Vegeta that scene would be 10/10 through I'm hoping he don't kill goku black but sadly that seems highly impossible because I think trunks is going to espace with a flashblang and smoke grenadesFreeza9000 wrote:I will say that if Trunks happens to die in the manga version of the Zamasu arc and ends up sacrificing himself against Zamasu and Black, I think that would put a well way to end to his character arc imo.

I share this same thought, even though I'm still blatantly confused about Time Travel stuff and the power-scaling.MyNiggaGoku wrote:You're the man Herms! The manga probably will explain Black used Goku's body to power up and then fuse with himself to have both power and immortality.

"Probably" nothing. If that was the intention, they would have fused now that Black has Rose. Not to mention that fusing would totally nerf any future possibility of Zenkai, since he couldn't properly take damage.emperior wrote:The manga probably will explain Black used Goku's body to power up and then fuse with himself to have both power and immortality.

Manga explains things better but I think, and I'm not the only one, the anime was a lot more entertaining.LowRyder2005 wrote:Good read! Definitely on the "manga does it better" boat by now.
I will wait for the manga to finish this arc before I give a final judgment.

All Goku Black & Future Zamasu claim is that they'll murder every human across the five worlds. Unless someone remembers something I don't, they never confirm their current progress in Future Trunks' era.The gr wrote:I got a question did goku black manga kill every single human With the exception of Mai and trunks

That was Trunks. He was killing the normal Earthlings slowly on purposes and Trunks said in Episode 47 that Black could now sense his ki, suggesting that he couldn't before.Freeza9000 wrote:Except that Black had tried to finish off Trunks every encounter whenever he had the chance.HeroR wrote:He was killing the Earthlings slow on purpose to make them suffer. I read Chapter 20 today. Right now I'm in the camp of not loving the manga so far and anime of this arc. Some great ideas along with some not so great choices.
Points for the manga trying to give reasons to Black going Rose and reaching higher levels. But way less impressed with the reasons given.
Why not just make an excuse for Black by using the Super Dragon Balls to get his power to rise (or connect with his body)? The villians had damn time rings and dragon balls, and it would of made things a lot easier to explain.

What does that have to do with anything? What you're suggesting would have been out of character for either version of Goku Black. He doesn't want the power given to him, he's a Saiyan, he earns the power himself. The only real difference is that, rather than weird insta-zenkais of questionable continuity, Immortal Zamasu just heals him whenever he needs in this version.KidGokuDB wrote:Why not just make an excuse for Black by using the Super Dragon Balls to get his power to rise (or connect with his body)?
