I keep seeing people going "Goku is the worst villain in the history of villains because he is going to get several universes destroyed!" and keep thinking those folks need to get their heads examined. lol It is obvious Goku never wanted for any harm to be done. From his limited knowledge and perception of Zenou, Goku never imagined anything bad would happen from asking Zenou to carry out the proposed tournament. If he had known Zenou would go as far as wiping out all of existence over it, he would have never reminded him, but the problem is he never did imagine such a ridiculous thing would happen. In the end, Zenou is the one that wants whole universes to disappear just for shits and giggles, not Goku. So Zenou would be the real "villain" here. If they say Goku is the ultimate evil for having a part of setting these events in motion, then they may as shift the blame back to Zenou for giving Goku the summon button in the first place. Or go even further and say it is Beerus's and Champa's fault for holding a tournament that enabled Zenou to meet Goku in the first place. Or it is Bardock's fault for not making sure his son died with their planet. Anybody with the smallest role in history could have the blame pointed back to them and be declared the ultimate evil. lol

This is getting ridiculous, DBS thread is full of "Goku hate" lets all just forget the fact that all he wanted was a tournament, that he's a psychic that knew how things would turn out, since all of us takes warnings so seriously, that if we were in his shoes we would rather take the warnings of someone that treats me as a pawn and the other that only teaches me for food and doesnt have any emotional attachment at all rather than reminding a friend of something that can excite me.

What he did would be like asking a teacher to test your skills, but instead he or she surprises everyone with a real test and no one's ready for it. it's not your fault that the teacher did that but if you kept your mouth shut like what your friends told you no one would've been in that situation.

That what I find odd. No one seems to blame Zen'o, the actual person blowing up the planet. This is like blaming the person who loaned their car to someone they see as their friend and they get drunk and run people over.

Yeah, you can blame the person for loaning their car to someone they were told was not trustworthy, but the fact remains that the person who actually drove the car ran people over.

None of this would've happened without him.

No one is saying Goku doesn't deserve at least some blame for setting the events into motion. However he is being treated like the villain which is silly. His Intent matters. If it didn't then we should put all the blame on Goku for everything else. He is the reason Cell and the androids killed so many people in both the present and the future. He helped revive buu and got the planet blown up.

But no one blames him for those entirely. Because that would be silly. He may have helped set the events into motion but he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger.

People blaming goku would have a point if Goku said "Hey! You know what would make this even more exciting? A death penalty!" It totally does make it more exciting though.

But if someone wanted to be super technical and blame Goku, one should blame Champa or Beerus for coming up with the idea of a tournament between Universe 6 and 7 and Zeno got the idea for a mutiversal tournament which also began Goku's "relationship" with Zen'o. See, no one including Goku saw this horrible rule coming. Should he take some responsibility or blame? Sure. But the main culprit here is Zen'o himself.

I loved Vegeta because he was amoral and prideful.
He was too prideful to openly admit that his heritage which he held in high esteem may not have been the best way to live and he struggled with that within himself. He's a deeply layered character. Of course Super seems to totally strip him of his pride and makes his transition stark as soon as Beerus shows it. Vegeta transitioned over years not instantly which is the more grating thing about Vegeta in Super. Even after freaking blowing himself up and dying for Bulma and Trunks he still came back just as defiant. It was a character trait which I sorely miss.

RIP Vegetas Pride.

Seems like some people are already buying their ticket to say this arc sucked in the end.
"Reasons why Universe Survival sucked or GT is better than Super - DBS Goku is selfish and only thinks about fighting. This is not Goku."

Just like FT Trunks arc. A lot of people were enjoying it big time, but since the ending was not what they wanted, everything about it sucks now.

This arc...Gokû is not the reason I'm unexcited about this arc. Tournament arcs never held much appeal to me to begin with, and even though the Zamasu arc had a messy ending I had a lot of fun with the first 2/3rds of it. There was mystery and adventure in that arc. An arc where we spend the whole thing in one ring doing round after round of regular fighting with an animation studio who doesn't even have the prep time it needs to do its best just leaves the bar so low for me.

Not even my hopes of this being Hunger Games style came true! At least do something new if you're going to do yet another tournament.

I'm also prematurely bitter about the off chance of Omni Kings destroying Uni 6.

Yeah, the fanbase just seems to exaggerate and or blow things way out of proportions with this. Labeling Goku as a villain (some people even thinking he's worse than Frieza is hilarious), thinking he isn't fundamentally the same as he was in Z (when he really was), lol at Vegeta and Piccolo being better fathers. I can't confidently say Goku is a better father than them, but there's very little supporting them as better fathers than him. With all that said, Goku is fully deserving of a lot of the flak he's getting, but a lot of people over the internet are treating this as if he straight up asked for a tournament where trillions of lives are killed as a consequence. Out of curiosity, do we know how the Japanese fanbase is taking this? Are they riled up like the we are?
