My guess is they are saving it for a drama moment where everyone finds out about it, i would like Vegeta to find out and get a power boost out of it

I second that it's probably for dramatic purposes. Like to get one big group reaction shot.

That's dumb... Look at Buu. He knows it most likely and trains his ass off.. Same for Gohan who is dead serious.

The other would do the same but nooo...

But you ar eright they will use it for drama... But i hope they will punch Gohan int he face again cuz of not telling them. At least Piccolo

Yeah but he asked Gohan if it is still a bad idea... And he said yes.

Maybe without Gohan's word he would tell them

Save for the RoSaT what can they do in 2 days? I agree at least vegeta should know, though I'm hopeful he will find out during battle or something and get a insane power boost or maybe find out now and train in the RoSaT the remaining day

This is a tournament based in strategy. If they have the fear of death looming over their heads it's unlikely that they'll be able to think as well.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Same thing as Beerus not telling Vegeta last week. They want everyone with cool heads and not make stupid decisions.

Piccolo will also learn about it next week because there is absolutely no way that Gohan will be able to hide it from him if even 18 noticed there was something different about him.

The problem is that SURELY someone WILL tell them during the tournament (Great Priest or enemies).
So they will have to fight with the shock of the news and with the fear of suddenly discovering all universes are against them due to Goku.
Do you think that will help their strategy?

I think being prepared for that would be better than learning it at the tournament itself!

There's absolutely nothing bad about telling them. In fact, they deserve to know that they will be fighting not for money, not for glory, but for the survival of their families.

So why won't Goku and Gohan tell them? Because the script is weak, and Toei is likely delaying the reveal for dramatic purposes as mentioned above.

That's true. If it's mentioned during the the tournament, then Gohans idea is going to backfire tremendously.

Agreed, it makes literally zero sense. While it's quite obvious they're doing it to lead up to a dramatic reveal, from an in-character perspective there's no reason NOT to tell them, so it's just poor writing. If they don't find out now, they'll find out like, minutes before the tournament starts. Wouldn't it actually be 100x more logical to tell them all now, as opposed to when the tournament starts, so no one is thrown off their game? I mean it's like the writers REALLY want a plot point (big dramatic reveal) but have no idea how to lead up to it in a way that makes sense.

He says he doesn't want a panic, but if they knew the stake they would take it more seriously. I can't think of a good reason except just for a dramatic reveal.

It's done purely for drama. There's no reason why they shouldn't tell them at this stage, especially considering what's on the line.

It's a terrible idea, they are probably going to announce it just before the match begins, everyone will be in shock, blaming Goku and they will perform poorly in the first round. Then it will piss off fans out of universe because there was literally no good reason to try and keep it from everyone and all the characters look like total idiots yet again.

At this point in the game, there really is no excuse for Goku and co. not to tell the others the dire consequences of the tournament. If they were to be told the stakes, the fighters definitely will take this tournament more seriously and would be more alert. Not to mention, the Daishinkan may reiterate the devastating rules anyway by the time each members of the universes enter the Tournament of Power. Or hell, Toppo, Bergamo, etc. will throw more tirades at Goku (and presumably Goku's team too) for putting the universes in danger.
