I don't think it ultimately come down to strength in the hunt for the DB's on Namek. Gohan and Kuririn were able to get them back and get a few wishes under Vegeta's nose.

Yeah that is true, though the Ginyu force muscled them out of the dragonballs so the possession went to those with the strength. I loved the ballsy move of wishing whilst Vegeta napped.

But that just means they came close. Who gets the wish doesn't come down to muscle. I also thought it was clever but a bit of a "duh!" that the wishes on the Namekian DB's had to be made in Namekian.

It was a good way to add Dende as a key player despite having no fighting skills.

Yes that was great to see.also,after the Saiyan Arc it was Krillin only Who came up with the idea of going to Namek and When they were on Namek he was like a mentor to gohan and telling him to Suppress his Ki whenever they were hiding and all.

Krillin is awesome and doesn't get the due commendation he deserves from certain factions of the fan base, even if they haven't seen DB he still did a lot in Z for reasons you said like on Namek but people just see him as a loser who dies all the time, it is annoying.

Krillin is awesome and doesn't get the due commendation he deserves from certain factions of the fan base, even if they haven't seen DB he still did a lot in Z for reasons you said like on Namek but people just see him as a loser who dies all the time, it is annoying.

He also saved that family from Cell. I know it wasn't in the manga but it should still count for him.

I like Coola and I think the concept of Freeza having a brother is better than having a father that just served to humiliated with his son by the new introduced character. Even though people says he's just like Freeza, I don't see that way, Coola is more respectful with his army and seems to be a bit smarter than Freeza.

A Vegeta, and Freeza fusion would just be Freeza at the end of the day. No, but really its one of the aspects I like the most about the Namek Arc, how similar Freeza and Vegeta are.

I think he'd have potential if he weren't so redundant, but he's so obviously just a subtly tweaked Freeza clone that his concept is boring.

After rewatching Dragon Ball again, I started to think the reveal that Goku is an alien kind of takes away from some senses of accomplishments in the OG Dragon Ball sections. I mean, I know that alien shit aside, Goku was a hard and driven fighter and that was the key to him being such a strong fighter. But sometimes it feels like "Oh, he's a saiyan, of course he can do that"

I liked GT Goten. His design, his personality, his haircut, everything. I consider it to be the best version of Goten.

I mean, I know that alien shit aside, Goku was a hard and driven fighter and that was the key to him being such a strong fighter. But sometimes it feels like "Oh, he's a saiyan, of course he can do that"

You're right in a way Goku being retconned into being a Saiyan could have made his achievements less valid than they were. But, they aren't all of what Goku had achieved was still all of his own effort. He did start out far stronger than the average human, he was trained by Grandpa Gohan, but he only ever learned the very basics from him.

Regardless, in the end that amazing strength would never have gotten to the heights that he did if he never did anything with that strength. Of course in Early Dragon Ball Goku was an amazing prodigy as well.

I like it as a way to turn things on its head, Goku was always seen as special even in part 1, they constantly made reference to the fact that he had a monkey tail, wasn't normal and was a prodigy. Part 2 comes along and tells us Goku is a piece of trash.

He's trash from a race of extremely strong people by earth standards, Raditz was also weak trash but he still stomped Goku and Piccolo.

If they didn't show goku as a guy with shit for brains, I would give it 32/32..

Goku being that dumb never got me invested in the thing, after the bit with super, a canon material also overblowing his naïve nature I developed a strong dislike for anything where goku is acting like a total fool..
So Yeah, as of right now, not too good of deal, but every other character interaction is mostly wonderful

Me either. And the fact that their fans go to such lengths to defend them or insist their version is canon.
