Midichlorians vs Super Saiyan Back Stinging... the greater issue?

I know this refers to two different franchises, but both situations have similarities. The Phantom Menace came out 16 years after Return of the Jedi came out, while Battle of Gods (which didn't introduce the concept of Super Saiyan Back Stinging, hereby shortened SSJ BS, but did start the beginning of new official DB material coming out) came out 16 years after the final episode of Dragon Ball GT aired. Both concepts came out long after the original stories ended. Which issue do you say affects its respected franchise more negatively?

Neither aspect has negatively affected either franchise.

Nobody truly knew some why people could wield the power of The Force in the original Star War trilogy, and the prequels expanded on why that was the case. It's the same deal with SSJ. We already know in some circumstances you need to train to gain the form, go through emotional stress or just be naturally gifted and the analogy that Super provides does nothing but just add another alternative to the list of choices for attaining SSJ. Once you attained the SSJ form, you just have to channel and focus all of your energy into a single specific part of your body. And we even get an description of what the sensation of turning into the SSJ feels like specifically.
