17 might be a complete hit in japan. I've seen a lot of things with him on it, especially from dragon ball heroes. I'd expect 18 to at least be comparable, but I guess not. Piccolo has lost a ton of popularity or maybe he was never that popular in japan. Everything I'm saying is based of product I've seen though.

Piccolo is the most popular non saiyan as far as i know, 18 might be more popular than 17 but rarely anyone talks about her or cares no offense but the only time i see people caring about 18 is when they see a slutty fanart or cosplay she also gained a lot by marrying a main character who is Goku's best friend. 17 has the charisma, he didn't have as much screen time as the rest of the characters involved but i see a portion of people who consider him as their favorites, this was even before he came back.

17 got 2 episodes, Gohan got the preliminaries, Freeza got 2 episodes, Vegeta....I don't know. Hopefully NewType's episode titles come out soon.

There were so many people they needed to reintroduce. Vegeta didn't need an introduction because he's been heavily involved with the series so far and he's the clear number 2. He didn't need multiple episodes to dedicate to him. That would've been stupid and a waste of time.

Ridiculous that people assume he will be knocked out early because they didn't spend a lot of time on him.

Nappa always struck me as the lesser evil. If Vegeta could be redeemed, why not Nappa who cared about the Saibamen's lives a bit at least?

I agree, I always saw Raditz as an enormous waste, having Goku's brother reduced to a mere meteor who lasts a few minutes is ridiculous imo
Why not bring him back in action in some way?

None of that means he's charismatic, simply that he is popular. And please, show me this charisma of his. The only time he breaks out of his bland monotone voice (He's borderline fucking robotic) is when he's having a panic attack over the fact someone managed to punch him

Interesting character interaction? How being a mechanically enhanced living being is perceived and portrayed in two different universes? How 17 and 18 would react to a universe where their kind is the norm? How U3 would react to a lower-level universe having technology to produce stronger machines?

I agree that would be interesting, but mate, you sure need to low your expectations when watching this series. By what we all saw of the tournament until now I doubt we get this, also we don't know if mechanically enhanced living beings are the norm in U3, do we?

That's Gohan Black. In the unseen timeline Gohan finally became the strongest and met Zamasu, thus triggering the god, forcing him to steal a ningen's body.
He decided to travel to the main timeline (ours) and kill present Gohan to replace him and deceive everyone into thinking everything it's allright. In fact, the ToP it's Zamasu's perfect opportunity to backstab the team.

Frieza's a special exception to the villain staying dead rule and we all know it. And he got revived due to a frigging song catching Toriyama's attention.

Cell's pretty popular, especially in the west, but they won't revive him either. Doesn't mean there's not fans who wouldn't want to see it happen though.
