Why power levels are important?

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
I'm fine with having a special along with a much needed couple week break. ToP is not that interesting an arc. If they were interrupting the Future Trunks arc, that'd be irritating, but interrupting this current story? Breath of fresh air. Go for it, Toei.
With them apparently being a collab, but also being specific DBS and OP specials I'm wondering if maybe they have the same basic plot, but just done in the frame work of the two different shows. That'd be kinda neat.

I agree with what people have said before, it doesn't make any sense to have it be a conjoined key visual if they were two seperate specials. I doubt that Super is in any position production wise to have a special on its own without the One Piece production crew. Plus, the translation mentions a "collaboration preview" so it's likely a crossover

It depends, some times they do, some times they don't.

It depends, some times they do, some times they don't.
One Piece always took a different timeslot for its TV specials so these aren't really "specials" more so that they're just special episodes that fit into the shows' episode counts like the One Piece X Toriko ones

I'm actually curious as to whether or not FUNi will end up dubbing these as they haven't been able to dub the One Piece X Toriko ones but that could be because of the problems with the Toriko license

Could be neat if they did a staff swap of sorts. Have the One Piece writers/animators do the Super special and vice-versa.
It seems like the two invisible fighters will knock out Dr Rota ( from universe 6 ), or maybe just make him unconscious?
Anyway, I can already predict the end of next episode, Roshi will probably eliminate every visible fighter from universe 4 and everyone will be surprised why they didn't get erased. Nice ending though it seems like they'll get eliminated next episode immediately ( or the episode after that ). Now i'm sure the next universe to get erased is 4

Yeah, I think it's obvious that it's a crossover. I'm still in denial though because I want a hit special.

That doesn't really mean much, they wouldn't make a key visual if they were just airing two normal episodes back to back. The word project was used and if they were normal episodes, they wouldn't put up a PV on Monday because it would literally spoil episodes that won't be seen for a month. It's definitely a collaboration special at this point
