I low-key want him to be eliminated.
I'm tired of seeing Goku.
I want other characters to fight Jiren.

Its sad to read people wanting Goku to lose over and over and over again, like give the guy a break, he has NOT won a single clean fight in Super against the main enemy, for some weird reason people feels like Goku losing is new when its the exact opposite, I am tired of watching the main character losing the big one all the damn time.

Him losing and actually being knocked out of the ring and staying out would be new as there are still many other fighters left.

This tournament is about Universe 7 and not Goku even though he is overall the main character of the series he does not occupy that role as much in this arc.

quote="Artorias"]I think people are really setting themselves up for disappointment if they honestly think Goku's getting eliminated in this special. I just cannot see that ever happening. They aren't gonna toss out there golden boy after all of this build up like you said. Asinine speculation.

I think it's likely that he loses this "first round" of their fight, but I'm betting he'll be back later on either with a plan or with help.

I also can't relate to anyone that WANTS Goku to get eliminated. When did it become cool to root against the main character in this fandom? I've seen it a lot lately and it honestly puzzles me. If Goku get's eliminated this early, my interest in this arc will immediately tank to absolute 0.[/quote]

A lot of fans like other characters more and want to see them have major fights and wins and that has always been the case with fans of this series. I wany him Jirrn to takr out Goku, Hit and Vegeta to create thr biggest tension possible.

This is Goku's big fight so what is the problem with him losing even if it is earlier than expected?

Not really no, its not fcking new anymore, why the hell does people resort to calling Goku losing as something new to justify it for some reason? regardless of the reason the main point is if he loses again it wont be as impactful as you think it will be, tension? stakes? you wont find those as we already know they're fine and dandy at EoZ so I dont see the point of him losing raises tension and stakes. He stayed out when Vegeta was whooping Freeza's ass, Monaka beating Hit (gag tho) Future Trunks slicing MZamasu, for Gods sake enough is enough.

I dont see it that way, this tournament is about Goku wanting to fight strong people, didnt this arc start because of that? he moved it! he made himself look bad even to the fans and I wont be satisfied at all if it'll remain like that if he wont even be able to clean up his own mess.

It is never enough for me and when Goku loses no one else takes over from the main cast and has been Monaka with Hit losing on purpose and Zeno destroying the future. It will be enough when someone from the main cast who is not Goku gets the final win.

As long as it is not Vegeta.

Goku caused the tournament to happen but it is not his mess as Zeno was going to the Universe up anyway.

The main character Goku cant even get a final win... and you want others to get something he has yet to achieve... right.

It is his mess, at least in terms of the anime they made it look like he hastened the situation, characters and GoDs are even calling him out as the bad guy, regardless on how we view it, to the characters and in universe Goku is still somewhat to blame, even other fans see it as Goku is at fault here (I dont of course)

I don't give a fuck about Goku winning or losing. I care about him getting the hell out of the fight for a while so someone besides him can have relevancy. It doesn't matter that he doesn't technically "win" in Super that often since he still dominates almost all relevancy and because of that still has far more wins than anyone else will ever get. I mean the few moments you mentioned were few and far between and not exactly shining moments either. Vegeta got his kill stolen, Monaka was just a bad joke, and Trunks slicing Zamasu is known for being one of the most bullshit scenes in the show and it doesn't end up actually solving any problems either and if anything making everything worse. Surprised you didn't mention the actually really good Roshi episode, which is possibly the only time a cast member besides Goku was treated with real dignity and shown fighting competent fighters and winning.

Goku is going to have his time when he transforms and this is Goku's big fight and if he loses then he loses and is out. Goku might stay in and we don't know if Jiren is the main final boss of the arc.

If Jiren is the main boss and Goku wins, what happens afterwards? We will still have many fighters in and the tournament will be basically over as there will be no one left to challenge Universe 7 so the rest of the arc will become pointless.

Then I dont see why you needed to quote me here, I'm talking about people justifying Goku losing as something new or surprising.
I care about him getting the hell out of the fight for a while so someone besides him can have relevancy.
I dont disagree, and we kinda in a way did get that, 17,Krillin,18 and Roshi had their times to shine (but for some reason Goku had to pop out for at least a mint)
It doesn't matter that he doesn't technically "win" in Super that often since he still dominates almost all relevancy and because of that still has far more wins than anyone else will ever get.
It matters to me at least, he's the main character, at least give him one clean win against the final boss in one arc, is that too much?
I mean the few moments you mentioned were few and far between and not exactly shining moments either. Vegeta got his kill stolen, Monaka was just a bad joke, and Trunks slicing Zamasu is known for being one of the most bullshit scenes in the show and it doesn't end up actually solving any problems either and if anything making everything worse.
Those moments I mentioned were to say that Goku never had a clean win against the final boss in super, not to say those guys had a "shining moment"
Surprised you didn't mention the actually really good Roshi episode, which is possibly the only time a cast member besides Goku was treated with real dignity and shown fighting competent fighters and winning.
Did I need to? Roshi owned this damn arc and made it entertaining to which before his episodes were full of fucking garbage, almost everybody knows Roshi's episodes were amazing in comparison to what we got up until now.

I never saw winning as important to Goku anyway. He's satisfied as long as he goes down fighting and gives his all. Against Cell he quit, against Hit he quit. He will give Jiren far more of fight than anyone else in this tournament will, and that he ain't going out like a punk. In fact he makes everyone else in u7 look like a punk in comparison. He made Vegeta look like one in the U6 tournament when he was taking hits in base form that was levelling Vegeta Blue. He buried a post ROSAT Vegeta just by yelling FULL POWER! And injuring fused Zamasu. It's not enough for Goku to make everyone else on U7 look useless by being probably 50x stronger than the 2nd strongest in his new form he has to win the ultimate fight too, when he doesn't even appreciate what's at stake. I'd sooner have Frieza win this than Goku.

Its more about liking the other cast member more than rooting against the main character. They feel if Goku is out of the picture then it sets up for someone else to be the "hero".

I get that, but I've just noticed a general trend lately of people borderline rooting against the main cast in general, and specifically Goku. Like, U7 losing is the LAST way I want this to end. I'm honestly sick of these "twist" endings where the heroes lose and then get bailed out by the gods or some third party. Let them WIN for once in this damn show. And I don't need Goku to deal the final blow or anything, but at least make him part of the climax. Having the main boi out this early would make the show feel really weird and...empty for me.

Apparently the boys over here on Kanzenshuu want our great hero to be eliminated, because according to them, it would make things "more interesting" even though the logic behind it doesn't make sense, not only that, but when has Goku ever won a battle fair and square? The only time he "won" was against Freeza back on Namek, yet technically, he wasn't the one who deal the finishing blow, it was Trunks. 2. He literally forfeited against Cell because he was too strong. And while he did kill of the evil majin boo, he couldn't win from him either in battle, and had to rely on the energy of others to win (AKA The Genki Dama). He straight out lost against Beerus, he forfeited against Hit, and lost several times against Black and Zamasu (whom he ultimately couldn't take down either, relying on the Omni-King to finish things off).

Going back to early dragon ball, out of the 3 world martial arts tournaments, he only won 1! While he lost the other two.

So Yes. You're right. It would be nice if Goku actually won for a change. It seems to be a common trend among the creators and writers of dragonball to have Goku lose all the time.

If Goku loses so Gohan can be the hero than I'm all for it. I mean who else would win the tournament for U7? Freeza?

You just don't introduce a new super saiyan form for Goku that makes him at least 50x stronger for him to lose shortly afterwards. I don't care what anyone else says, no Gohan, no Vegeta, No Hit, No Freeza can possibly fill that gap for Goku. It's simply too much of a powergap between them to be considered a threat against someone like Jiren. And don't give me the crap that Jiren is somehow going to be worn out from his fight with Goku to have become weak enough to get beaten by them. The gap is simply too big.

Vegeta -Sama. As he said he would.

But Frieza is a better choice over Goku.

I would actually put Goku as 2nd to last as who should win it all. The way he's been acting this arc... Goku hears countless trillions will be erased, his response is "I just have to win!" and then he just goes and does it. He wins. Good for him.

IT MAKES NO SENSE! if they were to do such a thing. And it would surely throw a LOT of fans off. You don't hype this fight up to such an insane degree as they did, by hyping it up and building it up for MONTHS, even giving Goku a brand new Super Saiyan Form that will likely spark a brand new era for it all to be thrown away in a single (or perhaps a few) episodes.

I know Toei and Toriyama are all about betraying the fans' expectations.. But THIS?! Absolutely not! I just can't see them going THIS far!

It would be the ultimate trolling action, one that's simply untolerable from a fanservice stand point.

Just the idea that so many people already have the mere thought of Goku losing in this one-hour special, is what shocks and surprises me.

So what are your thoughts about it?

This is all based on the leaks that came out, specifically, the episode titles, AFTER the one-hour special, just because Goku wasn't mentioned in there anywhere. Do people have that small of a faith in Goku and the writers?
It is ALWAYS great when the main caster loses. Despite plot giving him some more power.
Besides, did you see a guy named Dyspo? Yeah, he is an underlings of Jiren's, giving BOTH Hit and Goku fits!
So it is no stretch of imagination if Jiren completely outclasses Goku.

The only upside for me of Goku losing in the middle of the tournament is I get to put off watching the episodes immediately when they come out and can just watch them at my leisure like I do with all the other series I follow. It would be more relaxing, but definitely less engaging for me.
