General reminder to everyone in this thread: Please do not draw too many conclusions until you've actually read the full chapter. Doing so almost never turns out well.

That said, I'm very curious to see how Goku vs Toppo plays out and how far we advance in the story this month. Considering how far behind the manga release is at this point, keeping a fast pace until the tournament proper shouldn't be so bad. I'd like to see the "recruitment arc" start next chapter, with most of the team joining quickly, and then one chapter focusing on 17 and one chapter focusing on Frieza. Though maybe I'm just being hopeful.

I see,so Vegeta telling him he is a bad father was all build up for this.
In the anime all universes were targeting Goku because they thought he was a bad guy but in the manga they will be targeting him because he is a bad parent.

Is that Toppo landing a hit on Goku Blue? That would be a reversal of how characters are portrayed between the manga and anime with the antagonist tending to do better in the latter.
Curious to see if both the GoD fight and the Toppo vs Goku fight will be wrapped up in this chapter.

They didn't skip the pre tournament, the GoDs fighting was the pre-tournament. What Toppo and Goku are doing is a duel/challenge. Having Toppo be there would have no meaning otherwise

If that image was Toppo kicking the crap out of ssb goku then I already like the manga fight better than the anime one. The anime didn't make Toppo seem like a GoD candidate at all. He didn't land one punch on ssb goku and i guess he tanked a kamehameha but obviously goku didn't put everything into it as its obvious when he does ie. Cell or M Zamasu

Lol what? Goku felt he needed Kaioken since Toppo tanked his Kamehameha, how was Toppo not god candidate and how was the Kamehameha weak? Beerus thought he killed Toppo with it, only to see Toppo took no damage

Also, totally reused that kick. He used it with SSG Goku vs Beerus, in the same angle too, and that was similar to Vegeta vs Cell

It hurts just looking at that. Why can't the anime be this brutal ? It looks like another chapter that surpasses the anime, what a shock.

It'll be great to know how both versions came to be and how much involvment Toriyama had in them. I also hope we get some tease for what's to come after the current arc.

First of all the anime never mentioned Toppo as GoD candidate, only as bodyguard for kaioshin

2nd, Beerus also thought Toppo was gonna choke Goku out so his word isn't reliable

I'm saying the actual fight was super onesided, toppo did not land 1 solid blow on ssb goku. At the very end, they finally realized oh shit this toppo guy is supposed to be crazy strong.

Toppo hit some hits on Goku SSB in the anime, it's only you to pause the fight during the exchange of blows (although Goku is taking the lead).

However, I find it overkill to put Toppo at the level of Goku SSB Kaioken.
Goku just wanted to show Toppo what happens when he '' pushes his limits ''.

Goku even said he did not know if he would beat the Pride Trooper with Blue (proving that defeat in this form was not certain, he could win or not)

To be fair though to the anime, it never did actually state that Toppo was a Destroyer candidate.
