Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
Nice episode, finally all the "filler" is done, those episodes were well handled with interesting bits of animation.
Now the climax begins, 2 weeks it's gonna be a really long wait to see takahashi again, but it's gonna be the best possible way to start the fight for sure

I just can't wait for episode 122 to come.

A world without Dragon Ball is just meh.
Holy fuck Takahashi is a literal god sent from animation heaven. This is going to make a great birthday gift. Around a week and a half late, but it'll still do.
Question though. Why is Takahashi allowed to draw however he wants while completely ignoring the character sheets? Is it because they look at it and think it looks so damn good too that they give him a pass?

Yamamuro isn't going to interfere with Takahashi's work, he's not stupid...and for that i thank him lol.

Other animators too draw their way, viz. Manabe, Tate, Karasawa, Shimanuki. Its impossible for Yamamuro to intervene in each episode, plus he also does designs and promotional material. Plus, with the new movie being announced and production already in work (as per Toei's website), he must have his hands full. Also, we haven't seen him involved in Super as much as one had expect after his heavy involvement in the RoF movie. Even, Tsuji and Ide have their own take on the designs. Ide's style has definitely evolved in this arc. The issue is that, we haven't seen other animators steer far way from the original CDs.

If you're going to follow a certain style, why not take an example from the best that Dragon Ball had to offer?

Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I asked him about that on Twitter, but he said while he definitely looks at the Boo arc for inspiration, his focus is primarily on the Z movies, specifically DBZ Movies 8, 12, and 13. He sent me this specfically:

Looks a lot like the Gohan shot in the NEP, so I guess that makes sense:

That is so cool that he does that considering I love Movies 8,12, and 13. But, I wonder if Takahashi is a fan of the Buu saga in general?
