1. Vegeta was born evil. Goku even said this.. In fact thats how he went super saiyan.Mercenary wrote:Frieza won't change his ways. He is evil to the core. Sick sociopath.Ki Breaker wrote:I wonder if people reacted similarly when Vegeta turned into an ally..
The situations are similar in more than one ways, Freeza's future depends entirely in the hands of Toriyama but taking an educated guess from DB's history, Freeza is getting redeemed sooner or later if he continues to live..
Vegeta on the other hand was like that because he was raised in that way (also by Frieza).
I am not saying Vegeta is innocent but he redeemed himself at least several times. What he could possibly do more?
BTW. Piccolo was also evil at the beginning, just reminding, because you folks tend to forget about it.
2. His redemption was fixing a problem he made!

Gotenks gets a free pass though, I need me some adult Gotenks when eoz kicks in
That's basically Vegeta's entire existence in a nutshellTotamo wrote: His redemption was fixing a problem he made!

Piccolo and Vegeta both tortured Goku immensely. In fact, I have always headcanoned that Chichi's strict rejection of marital arts for Gohan was because of what she saw Piccolo do to Goku.MrBlackFox wrote:I don't agree in comparing Piccolo and Vegeta to Frieza
They were evil of course, but nothing like Frieza who's a genocidal crazy tyrant, and a sadist who love to torture his enemies
Though I always believe he could not be so evil anymore, I see him more in a grayish / neutral- rival area than a good guy one
A Vegeta turn for Frieza is impossible and out of character, even in 100 years
It's highly likely he' ll be more mature after this tournament, after all these bad defeats he took from being too cocky, has to learn something for sure
To me, a Cell turning into a good guy could have been more believeable, but Frieza...uhm
And Vegeta was merciless on namek.
Look, Freeza is pure evil but so was Vegeta, they both have committed genocide, they both have tortured innocence and neither had a semblance of a conscious. The thing that separates them was Vegeta's redemption wasn't a straight line and it wasn't overnight.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The major thing that separates vegeta and freeza is freeza's iconic villain status. He is widely considered the best villain of dragon ball for more than 30 years.Totamo wrote:Piccolo and Vegeta both tortured Goku immensely. Yeah, but what I mean is while saiyans were murderers and planet busters, basically disintegrating any opposition, Frieza is totally on another plan of evil, he's a sick tyrant who disintegrate whole planets at willTotamo wrote:Piccolo and Vegeta both tortured Goku immensely. Hell, he made Krillin explode in an horrible way too
Neither Vegeta or Piccolo did things so horrible like Frieza massacres

Also the reason why he'd be a great GoD, they are always on the edge of being evil to some extent

The whole concept of "good guy Freeza" makes me so sick to my stomach I honestly want to vomit. I wouldn't watch the next Dragonball series if he becomes an ally. It would be the biggest jump the shark moment in Dragonball history.

For the first time you make sense. I agree. Freeza should always be a cold hearted bastard. Not necessarily the main threat anymore though
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I was against Frieza becoming a protagonist initially, but he seems to flow exceptionally well with the team; particularly with Android 17.
That said, Frieza rising to the top as a villain again would also be amazing.

Fuji TV Episode 126 preview.
破壊の力を解放したトッポに17号とフリーザは必死に応戦。そこへ悟空、ベジータ、ジレン達がラッシュを繰りひろげながら接近、武舞台も崩壊し大混戦となる!

For some reason Freeza might wake up, the stage is collapsing, thats what I got to understand...

You should at least give it chance, Freeza returning wasn't well accepted either but it's turned out great, he dosen't have to be a goody two shoes and take orders from ChiChi like Piccolo does, he can maintain a toned down personality towards our cast and unleash full force on the enemies, that should work out just fine without having to sacrifice his overall integrityprecita wrote: I wouldn't watch the next Dragonball series if he becomes an ally. To be fair, Freeza's involvement in the arc probably sold more action figures and other merchandise... which, as cynical as it may sound, is probably the #1 reason to include him.MrBlackFox wrote:GamerSkull wrote:You're right about that.MrBlackFox wrote:
The fact is Toriyama and Toei think to money more than everything else, and Frieza being around for more after ToP is an easy cash grab, while making him disappear forever makes this impossible
And now they've bring it back again will probably not make the same error of eliminating him
That would definitely be another example where their artistic integrity is brought into question again.
Aside from that, I think would be one of the biggest wastes to simply let Frieza go after The awesome character building they did with him, same reasons I'm pretty sad for 17 and Gohan who will probably go back to be no ones after ToP
But Frieza is definitely destined to something big, let that poor guy become a God of Destruction

Freeza was only brought back for fanservice and sales, look how he got treated in the manga, acting like Beerus lapdog again, a proof that was going to be trolled by Toriyama again.
