Your favorite battle location?
For me its the Tournament of Power Ring.
I just find the entire design appealing, the rules are cool as they have some pretty interesting loopholes to be exploited, its a battle royal style fighting arena and as it gets damage the terrain changes the dynamic of the battle changes accordingly. This latter part help stop the background from being too stagnant, unchanging and worst of all having no impact on the fight. The only real weak point is that the writers never quit full capture the battle royal like nature this arena was meant to provide.

This is a really weird pick, but I actually quite like the mountain road where the Androids owned all the Z Fighters. It's more visually interesting to me than "generic repetitive landscape for miles with no sense of geography" that's in most of the other battles.

Mine is the ruins of West City (I believe that's the one) when Future Trunks takes out 17 and 18.... although it's a pretty quick fight.

With the exception of Namek most scenarios are either an arena or a run of the mill desert, so hard to tell. Probably a ruined city like the ones Gohan and Trunks fought the twins.

This would be a tie between city ruins in Future Super or someplace on Planet Namek (especially during final Frieza fight, when the planet is exploding). Can't choose one over the other.

Any landscape that is covered by ice or is nighttime.
Too bad there aren't much fights in both of these situations.

Dying Namek. Nothing like a battle on top of a planet about to blow up and lava shooting up everywhere.
Re: Your favorite battle location?
I’ve always been a fan of battles over water. I’m not sure why but I really love seeing characters interact with water bursting everywhere so the battle on Namek is always fun.
Anywhere closed in or where they have to mind what techniques they can use can add fun elements as well
Also, it’s likely due to nostalgia but the rocky terrain where Goku and Vegeta fight for the first time is lots of fun.

Forgot to mention outer space. I really liked Bardock vs Freeza and Goku vs Beerus there.
I feel like battles should take place out of the planet since Cell saga.

To be perfectly honest I consider Namek to be generic as well, due to the extreme lack of geography continuity.GreatSaiyaman123 wrote:With the exception of Namek most scenarios are either an arena or a run of the mill desert, so hard to tell.

The Kaioshin Realm and Space. Both of these locations sound very relating to climatic, most interesting and symbolic battles

A personal second would be Iguana Street and the city from Movie 4.
Say what you will about the film but Goku and Slug's battle incorporates the location into the fight really well.

Am I the only one who likes the classic Tenkaichi Budokai ring?
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

I enjoy the classic ring if we’re talking early series. When the characters still used more martial arts than ki blasts and such, it’s awesome. It does still have a nostalgic fondness to it but I’ve found it doesn’t seem to work as well once the characters surpass a certain level.
Having said that though...
Goten and Trunks’ fight is probably one of my favorites in the traditional ring. I love how it’s a simple ring out that does Goten in because his air brakes are less than perfect.

Re: Your favorite battle location?
Yeah! I love the smaller scale of the classic ring, as the size puts a bit more pressure on getting a ring-out on your opponent. There are also several instances where the lack of a grand stand meant that you had more creative aerial recoveries, like Jackie using the Kamehameha.Polyphase Avatron wrote:Am I the only one who likes the classic Tenkaichi Budokai ring?
Come to think of it, if Trunks and Goten fought in the classic arena, Goten wouldn't have been rung out!
Re: Your favorite battle location?
Pretty much every location from Bojack Unbound. They're all very creative and cool looking.
Re: Your favorite battle location?
Really liked the Kaioshin planet and the areas in and around Baba's palace (I think the Devil's Toilet was and interesting choice for a battle arena).

I think Garlic Castle gets my vote here. It's up there as one of my favorite Dragon Ball settings anyway, but it also serves as a beautiful backdrop for fights.

The Tenkaichi Budokai ring would probably be my favorite if I had to limit it to the main series.

Planet Namek, the original Budokai ring, and on top of Kami's lookout. Those places always stood out to me as special.
