I did enjoy what they tried to do with Gohan though... although, I don't really think it amounted to what it could have.

Vegeta's power-ups seem to be given to him just so that he stays in the same tier as Goku... which I think should stop at this point as I find it a bit annoying.

Totally agree. Let Vegeta surpass Goku so he won't be in the same tier anymore :) :) :).

I feel the opposite. Let Vegeta be a strong and capable warrior... but don't tie his growth with Goku's anymore.

He can do his own thing instead of revolving around surpassing Goku. He can be weaker but explore different story beats with him.

GT characterized characters better than Super does these days. Disaster my ass, at least they acted human like and weren't all androids with infinite energy.

But for some people, 5 year old Pan turning SSJ3 would be hype and amazing because flashy things > personality.

Not so much  but lol, Trunks is meh

Goten...uh...
Gohan passed from the series strongest being to be a piece of furniture
Pan is meh, not so bad but you'd expect much more from Gohan's daughter and Goku's niece
Uub goes from Buu reicarnation and Goku disciple to zero
Vegeta is a no one at least until Baby
Not exactly much better, imo
And I love GT, it's my childhood, but Goten and others treatment still gives me nightmares

Just watch what Super did to ToPGeta, 17, Frieza, even Gohan himself
What was wrong with Goten in GT? As Xeogran mentioned, Goten was slacker at the EoZ too and wanted to go on a date instead of participating in the World's Martial Arts Tournament. GT didn't change that personality in any way, they just gave him a different design.

I just meant the story aspect of him falling behind but realizing that he has the responsibility to try to keep up with his training because of his loved ones.

This actually started off really well, in my opinion. But it looks like Toei dropped the ball because he started off so weak and then seemed to be almost on par with Goku easily later.

But this brings me to my biggest issue with some of Super's characters... like Roshi being able to compete in the tournament.

Only 17 and Freeza shine in this aspect. Vegeta is forced as heck to sell more merch, and Gohan was boring to watch, going out against a fodder trooper to boot.
Top Gohan was the best Gohan has been and been treated since the Cell games.
Also Dyspo is not fodder,he was giving Golden Freeza trouble and was the 3rd strongest of U11 and top 10 in the 8 universes participating.
Someone like Shantza was fodder.

EoZ, as I said, make them promise to Goku to continue their training in a more mature and serious way, Goku let them the Earth to protect while he trains Uub and they agree

Then we find Goten and Trunks at the same ssj level, maybe even weaker than Buu arc ( not so sure of this tbh, they kill 19 with a ki blast after all) but i'd expect much more for them

Having Gohan, Goten and Trunks all dropping martial arts for studies, work or datings is a downfall
Dragon Ball Online plot, with the boys studying ki and fighting with swords is a million times better, we also had an hint of kikoukenjutsu with Future Trunks sword of light and some other of his sword techniques :D

But it makes sense. They are half human. Not saiyans.

Might as well add Gohan fans, they got mad when Goku got eliminated in episode 124 and not getting that so called "new form".

Gohan fans are at least a step below Goku/Vegeta in terms of DBS. Gohan got nothing for 90 episodes of Super, then barely appeared in the tournament ecept for like 3 (big) moments. It's not too greedy to want a new form from him.

Unlike Vegeta who gets spotlight and moment after moment. Lame powerup after lame powerup. And they're STILL not happy. Him and Goku are so annoying in this arc it's not even funny.

And people still whine if others ike myself want to see Goten and Trunks do ANYTHING??

Vegeta barely did anything in the recruitment arc, and Gohan had as much as spotlight as Goku. Now in the ToP, Gohan had more involvment than Vegeta(until the last 2 episodes).

Absolute rubbish. Gohan was only a slight step above Piccolo in his ToP treatment, which isn't very good. Most of his moments are of him being a mindless idiot or overall failure. Then he's eliminated in a pointless sacrifice.

Yes, because HOW DARE we want anyone else to be relevant.

Also stop this shitty myth that GT was all about the next generation. It's referred to as "Goku Time" in many circles for a reason (you know, same problem Super has, but with a pinch of Vegeta now) and the next gen cast were shafted. Uub being irrelevant was especially overt, seeing as End of Z clearly sets him up to be a strong and important character, but all he does in GT is fuse with Buu before immediately being turned into chocolate.

This feel a little too derisive. With the exception of one careless moment in 106, Gohan did fine. People expected more because of all the attention he got, but that attention wasn't supposed to be a sort of build-up towards something, the attention itself was the award. He had been sidelined for most of Super, but here he helped defeat two universes, got a fantastic character moment with Piccolo, showed that he can come up with strategies too and be absolutely brutal when pushed, took down the third most dangerous opponent from the most dangerous team. It's not earth-shattering like his SSJ2 transformation, it's not perfect, but it's good.

You find it annoying that a guy who spends his entire life training (with the exception of right before Bullas birth) is in the same hemisphere as Goku? Gotcha.

If you ask me that’s one thing Super has done right. In a real life scenario, someone who works their butt off and gets no respect or little pay off is not enjoyable to watch.
