That's not terribly surprising. The whales spend a shitload of money on this game.
The... whales? Umm... what? Who are they?

A whale is a P2P player who spends a lot of money in Dokkan Battle.
Yeah, they're paying players who go above and beyond buying Dragon Stones and the like. I've heard there are players on the Japanese side who will spend thousands upon thousands on some banners so they can rainbow star one of the featured cards or chasing the LRs.

Jesus.
Pouring thousands into a game, let alone a mobile game... that's not healthy... at all.

I know. I spent 80 dollars last christmas during the UI Goku banner and I felt terrible. Never doing that again.
I dunno how familiar you are with Dokkan, but you can get a multi-summon of 10 cards off of a banner for 50 dragon stones. A pack of 50 dragon stones costs $49.99 in the US shop and I've seen people on the Dokkan reddit go thousands of stones deep chasing one of the new cards. It's a slot machine with Dragon Ball .jpegs, complete with the gambling addiction.
Thanks to them Dokkan is sometimes first in top-grossing games in Google Play and all the players get cool rewards like free Dragon Stones. It's great if you're a F2P player like me, so they can be helpful sometimes. If they really want to spend their money for jpeg images in mobile game then it's their choice
There's an error, Dokkan Battle is three years old.
Ah. You're right. Major typo there.

If you max their SA and unlock their hidden potential paths, you may sell the spare cards in Baba's shop for 1000 points each. I think that's a good deal.

Yep! That's true for all farmable SSRs. The Ginyu force are now permanent weekly events, have a great drop rate and only cost 12 sta per attempt. Getting Baba points has never been easier.
Seems like the Dragon Ball Super: Broly video game content is starting early with Dokkan Battle.
If the latest notice's end date of August 15th is to believe, we're going to have a celebration (log-in bonuses and all) centered around a new Extreme Z-Battle event for Broly very soon.
Global's also getting "Movie Boss Category" Turles around the same time, for those with stones to splurge.

Really interested in seeing if there's going to be a F2P Broly card, and the new assets involved.

I expect there will be. The next EZA event we're slated for on Global is Full Power Frieza. I wouldn't be surprised if the Broly card is a mini leader for Movie Bosses like Gohan was for Namek.
I'm kinda shocked cause it will be his debut before movie. We'll get to see his attack(s), quotes, etc. That's somehow great that Dokkan will get him first and other games like Xenoverse 2 and Heroes will have to wait.
We'll probably get F2P card from special missions. I guess that December/January will be a time to summon him for DS.
