So Vic was at Kameha Con and so was his lawyer. I see people taking pictures with the lawyer like he is some type of folk hero.

The absolute disdain some guys have for women is really disheartening & disturbing.

Why would Vic even feel the need to bring his lawyer with him in the first place???

Saw the interview with him after the con. His lawyer said he wanted to see what it was about and he brought his daughter because she's an anime fan.

I heard Nick was there, but this is the first I'm hearing of Ty being there.
Looking for these rare items/information:

Any information or recordings pertaining to Dragon Ball Z's syndicated run on WAWB
Any information regarding the stations that carried the origin Dragon Ball in the USA
Dragon Box (any deals would be nice)
Shonen Jumps with Dragon Ball in them

I'm glad that the majority of the people actually support vic. Kamehacon is a huge example of that. Here is kanzenshuu as well (i would know since communicate with them), tho reading past the last couple of pages i can tell why they wouldnt want the post here. Nothing wrong with the posts (so dont take it the wrong way)

The majority of people seem to not care that Watsuki had of tons child porn and Rurouni Kenshin still sells well so Vic getting tons of support from a bunch of rage nerds and dumb fan girls who think he is sweet like the characters he plays hardly means anything.

Nick wasn't there, he interviewed Vic's lawyer by phone after he left the con.

Because that's who he is. He keeps his hands clean directly, but the lawyers stir up all kinds of shit online against his accusers on his behalf... so having him there sends a message. Extra lousy behaviour, frankly - if it was really "about the fans" he would have left all of this situation outside of the event. But instead he brought it in with him.

Note it was Ty his actual lawyer not his friend Nick the lawyer who is all over social media.

Eh, I’m beginning to think he’s not exactly wrong. Unfortunately, at least in this fandom, anywhere else and you’ll more or less get shouted down for being on the KickVic side. Hell, even RL, my friend who’d a huge DBZ fan is a StandWithVic guy. And he’s very liberal too, no alt right shill. I think people here are naive as to just how stupid this fandom is and how much of a minority we are.

I like how hypocritical people are. You are telling us not to assume Vic’s character but you assume everyone else including his co-workers are liars.

Well, I said "lawyers" for a reason, though I didn't specify... The YouTube lawyer is the one aggressively kicking up shit and putting the target on the victims/accusers and their supporters, often directly to Mignogna's most rabid fans (check damn near any of the dude's threads for an absolute orgy of harassment and hate). Mignogna's "actual lawyer" makes regular appearances on that guy's YouTube channel, tacitly but obviously encouraging it, and based on what I've seen/heard he's also chipped into and encouraged the social-media "conversation" that's been nothing but hostile to accusers and witnesses. Mignogna isn't doing a thing to stop either of them, and having one of them at the convention with him sends the message that he endorses it - and sends that message specifically to his fans in that space. (If anyone wonders why some people didn't feel safe attending, that'd be why.)

He could have kept this matter entirely away from the convention to ensure it was a safe and pleasant space for all fans, and asked his lawyer not to attend. But he didn't. I think that says a lot about who he is.

And to the original point about the lawyer being treated like some kind of celebrity... that's also pretty revealing. No matter what "side" you're on, this is pretty serious stuff. By and large, people don't come forward with accusations like these for kicks - the minute you publicly accuse someone, you're in a hurricane of crap, constant harassment, counter-accusations, death threats, you name it. Nobody in their right mind would subject themselves to that for no good reason, to say nothing of multiple people. No matter what, this is a serious situation that's impacting peoples' lives, and a lot of fanboys are treating it like social-media bloodsport. And frankly, I think a lot of the lawyers' fanboys really enjoy the idea of victims and their supporters being harassed and sued into silence... and the precedent that sets.

If someone's got decades of extremely similar accusations hounding them from like dozens of people, has been investigated and fired by two employers for their behaviour, and has even admitted to bad behaviour in the past, believing in their innocence is... well, I guess you can call that "faith", but I think there are better words for it.

As a rule, I never assume "online discourse" or anecdotal evidence is representative of the whole. For starters, once this became a 'gater issue, I assume a lot of sockpuppeting and comment-flooding, because that's what those people do every time, like it's their job. Their game is propaganda and warping perception, and they seem to have a lot of time and energy on their hands to spread it.

But what I mean is I don't think there's a way to definitively say "the majority of people ____" one way or another. But a lot of people like Dragon Ball, and I don't think the majority of them are engaged with (or even aware of) this issue, honestly. I could be wrong! But like many Extremely Online fandom controversies, I think it's more a matter of an extremely loud minority than an actual majority.

I don't think Vic's lawyer is up to anything, if the man says he wanted to visit and take his daughter then that's probably how it really is, probably no different than the cosplayer. The reason this blew up is because it was done over twitter. However minus a few outliers people directly involved seem to be doing what most normal people do in a bad situation.

I think its fine if they do. I mean jokingly the man's not exactly a machevellion schemer. If I had to wonder if the man did a crime on whim, I certain wouldn't pick up on it very easiliy through his personality. For some things you'd really have to see it to believe it.

But I mean... it's not like criminals make a habit of admitting their crimes and acting as suspiciously as possible. Generally criminals and abusers want to get away with it. Especially if someone's an actor by trade... you've gotta assume they know how to project a certain personality, and you can't necessarily trust that to be genuine.

Anyone can believe whatever they want to believe, but automatically trusting someone because they "seem nice" or whatever is extremely naive.

I’ll grant you that most Dragon Ball fans probably don’t even know about this controversy in the first place. When I say the majority, I’m of course referring to those in the “know” (such that it is with the ProVic crowd. Maybe I just lurk more anime communities than others here, but there is barely any presence of Kick Vic opinions outside of this community. At least in regards to anime.

As I said before, contrast this with the RWBY fandom which has mostly been understanding and supportive towards firing Vic from Rooster Teeth. At worst, their Vic fans aren’t advocating harassing other VAs or calling Monica Rial a cunt.

Meh. Maybe I’m just a cynic about this idiotic fandom.
