I know a similar version of this topic has been previously posted up here and discussed before, though seeing as it's been quite a long time as in several months at the most since anyone has last posted in the previous thread and from the looks of it won't be anytime soon. Anyway i didn't want to necro post on that one when it's highly likely no further activity will come of it, so this is a franchise related question of what was occurring in terms of the anime/manga at the time you came into the world. As for me personally, i was born in July of 1994 and at that point the series on both fronts was right smack in the middle of the Majin Buu arc, so basically in terms of both it breaks down relative to my birth date late in that month. I can at least say that i was one of those who came along prior to the manga wrapping up and while DBZ was still on it's initial run on TV in Japan. So here's a brief breakdown where both were at during the days in which i was taking my very first breaths and everything as a small baby.

Manga: During a break in Chapter 480, The Fusion is Completed at Last!!" and 481, "The Earth Army's Secret Weapon" which premiered in Weekly Shonen Jump 1994 issues #34 and #35 respectively. So i was born right after Goten and Trunks had finally mastered the Fusion Dance technique under Piccolo's guidance and became the super warrior Gotenks.

Anime: In between DBZ episode 234, "The Terrifying Majin!! Gohan's Approaching Fear of Death" on July 27th and episode 235, "Gonna Eat'cha!! A Hungry Majin's Supernatural Power on August 3rd. At that point in time it was in the middle of the fat Majin Buu's and Babidi's (and Dabura's) continued reign of terror on Earth.

Goku was fighting Nappa in the manga and had just died in the anime when I was born.

Like I said in the old thread, the anime filler episode where Goku went to the Makai realm and fought the demon Shura, and in the manga, Goku had just lost his first fight against Piccolo Daimao.

In the manga, Goku and Cell were fighting in the Cell Games. Huh, fitting that the specific part of the story that launched my Dragon Ball fandom to begin with happened when I was born :lol:

In the anime, Trunks was fighting Cell.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

The Namek arc had just begun in the manga. In the TV series, the filler episode #40 of Z with Gohan, Kuririn and Bulma aired the day after I was born.

In the manga: Goku stalls for time so that Trunk can get the Dragon Ball radar, by showing off his Super Saiyan transformations to Majin Boo

In the anime: Vegeta becomes a mass murder (again) and Goku nearly kills a God to fight Vegeta

Around when in that month were you born exactly? as it would be the episode and manga guides on the main site would be the best place to find what specific chapter and episode came out at that point.

June 24 1987 - the DB episode "The Turtle Hermit's Intense Training" / "The Turtle Hermit Way" was aired on June 25.
