If another US Live Action Movie was made, would you want a remake, or a reboot?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

We now live in a world where movies on the scale of Infinity war and Endgame are possible, so the issue isn't whether or not a DB movie can be done, but rather can it be profitable. Once a studio finds away to make it profitable, there's the issue of finding someone who can actually make the movie. How many capable filmmakers in Hollywood are also anime and DB fans ? Comic books are lucky that not only are they profitable, they're worked on by talented people who are also fans of the material, a luxury DB doesn't have.

I think Dragon Ball has been around and permeated long enough to have people in the field who love it enough to make it a good movie...but American people who actually understand it? That's an entirely different question. I'd wager most people in such a position were mostly exposed to the English dub, so the end product would be along the lines of the fan-produced projects we've seen over the years...which are DCEU wannabes I'd want absolutely no part of.

I think getting Stephen Chow and the like in conjunction with Hollywood studios would be the absolute best chance we'd get.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
