Picking up from the Moro arc, maybe expand a little bit on Broly's life prior to meeting Freeza, and some training with Goku or stuff after the movie, plus the Granola arc should do.
If their doing any sort rebooting in twenty year it better damn well be the entire series. And keep in mind that our main voice cast is in their ... 70s or 80s or something. They're not voicing these characters.

Any new aniime series should be continuation of the manga til it's end.

Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Fri Nov 05, 2021 2:10 pm Super is far too recent to get a reboot. As much as I'd love to see an adaptation of the manga it's just too much of the same when we already had retellings that didn't go down well.

I'd love to see a reboot of the series as a whole starting with Pilaf, and maybe this time having everything from then until Boo just be "Dragon Ball" so a new generation of fans can see it as one big story.

And I know some will say "never remake OG Dragon Ball, it's a classic", but Dragon Ball fans are the kind that watch it all, so no reason to think people who are introduced through a reboot wouldn't be more inclined to check out the classic series.
Fullmetal Alchemist was released on 2003, while Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was released on 2009, making it a 6 year difference.
DBS anime ended on 2016 while now we are on 2021, making it 5 years since it ended. In 2022 it will be 6 years just like Fullmetal Alchemist.

I would prefer a reboot, this way they can make it better than whatever Toei was thinking when making DBS anime.

Although a reboot of the whole series might not be a bad idea, starting from Kid Goku episode till now. This way all the story is connected and there will be little to no retcon. Although DB/DBZ anime ends the same like the manga. How transformation and powers are gained are identical, while in DBS the manga and anime are too different.
You're always soooo critical of the DBS anime but then you don't know that it ended in 2018? How  :eh:
The DBS anime is shit.

With the news about Urusei Yatsura getting a remake, there's a chance Dragon Ball (the original, not Super) could get a remake too.

Why not both? Do a soft reboot following the newer generations following EoZ while still continuing the story and putting Goku and Vegeta in the sidelines. Oob and Pan are pratically begging for the Gohan 2.0 treatment.

When it comes to the first 3 arcs, the Anime feels like the complete way of experiencing them while the manga speedruns through them, not too differently from Boruto. I don't see any reason as to why Super should get rebooted. All the videogames and merchandise follow the Anime too, so a reboot would be utterly counter-intuitive.

I hope that Toei continues the Super anime eventually and, if they adapt the Moro and Granolah arc, they expand on them significantly like they did for the first 3 arcs.
I’m sorry but the anime is awful. The art and animation for that RoF arc was just so shit.

Other than that I’d really like to see a reboot, done properly within Toriyama’s vision, paced better, 12 episodes for each arc is fine honestly. And done in a style that Super chooses to go with from now on, whether that’s a modern Toriyama style or Shintani, I don’t mind, but preferably I’d rather they don’t mess it up. Having Son go UI and then scream all the time completely negates the principle of the form/technique.

Either that, or go with Toyotaro’s versions of the events, though then Black’s character will be really bad. Idk I just think having Toriyama actually write out more would be beneficial, no SSGSS Kaioken, no SSGSS Evolution. Just stick to what’s been given in Toriyama’s story and Toyotaro’s manga.

The last thing the Super anime needs is to be saddled with all the baggage of Toyo's lifeless manga. Not only because the manga is 9-times-out-of-10 the worse version of everything the anime did, but because it's so unbelievably limiting. It is un-fucking-real to me that people think the right call is to not just force the anime to be constrained with weekly episodes adapting a manga released at half the pace of the original, but that it should go back and remake the things it already animated with the worse version of events for no goddamn reason. Move forward, do your own Moro arc, or better yet, write a good story instead and ignore the stuff worth ignoring.

There are 3 other arcs after the RoF arc.

Yes, the first two arcs were dogshit, everyone knows this, but can we acknowledge that the anime improved massively after that? Thank you, now we can move on.

The FT and ToP arcs in the manga are genuinely shit. Zamasu and Black in the manga are completely generic, Black is just a brute, Zamasu is way less badass, Fused Zamasu throws some cubes instead of all of his unique and beautiful techniques from the anime. Trunks is turned into a nurse in his own arc. The ToP arc is completely rushed, Kefla is turned into fodder, etc. etc. etc.

I wouldn't watch an animation of the manga arcs because I don't like them at all, it would be a waste of time and I would skip them.

It also makes no sense financially since you don't need to market these characters, they are already popular and iconic, so they'd be wasting money to animate story arcs and characters that everyone already knows about. Really I don't see what the Toei executives gain from this, aside from appeasing some Toyotaro fanboys I guess. Fanboys who don't even give them money since they'd be watching the episodes free on Youtube.
At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

I think something like that could benefit from hindsight since they would have all the whole story completed to plan it out. I would recommend some fan recuts that remove padding if you're looking for a shorter version to rewatch. I think Toei would only do it years from now during an anniversary or something.

I do prefer moving forward though. There are definitely series out there that I felt were longer than they needed to be but I'm under no obligation to rewatch the entire thing after it's done. I can rewatch what I did enjoy and fastforward or skip what I didn't. An official recut would be nice but I guess they don't happen often enough to expect it.

I think they should continue the story with movies and television specials. I would honestly love more television specials.

I don't think i have the patience for another ongoing series. The animation and writing were so bad.

I'm surprised that TOEI doesn't do movie and special retellings of arcs for Dragon Ball, like they do with One Piece. It would be a great way to introduce people to the series who feel it's too long.

I love the idea mentioned in the other thread about Path to Power sequels for Piccolo Daimao and some of the Z arcs. It would have been nice to see those stories with movie-level animation and Tokunaga's score.

I'm not surprised at all. If people feel the series is too long then fuck them, that's their problem.

Why would it have a reboot when the series haven’t ended? That would be a mess.

The manga is still going on and it can go on until indefinitly, and therefore (I thought) the anime would obviously continue at some point, I didn’t know there was doubt about that. I guess I was wrong if it's being asked.

( Also I think reboots and remakes in general are the worst shit to happen to entertainment in the latest years, but that’s just me of course lol. Just thinking about all the disney remakes /reboots makes me nauseous)
