Dragon Ball Individual Discs

Post by Goku1085 » Sat Dec 31, 2022 11:01 am

Aside from the omission of the extras and menus, does anyone know if the 2007 Japanese Individual Discs for the OG Dragon Ball had any sort of differences with the 2003 Dragon Box Disc sets in terms of video and audio?

As far as i can tell, the JPN single volumes of Dragon Ball (and the same for the respective volumes of Z, GT and the movies) are identical video/audio presentation wise with their Dragon Box counterparts. They basically took the same video and audio files, changed the menu designs, stripped out the extras and stuck them on the single discs.

So yes, there is pretty much little to no difference between the episodes as presented on the Dragon Boxes and the singles released from 2005 to 2009 for the three series and movies.
DB collection related goals as of now:

1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)

2.) Collect rest of manga

3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

I got those discs cause they were identicle and cheaper than a box set (they're used Rental discs, I threw em in custom cases) you may also be able to get the extras discs from a used seller on amazon JP (thats what I did for the Z specials)

But they are 1:1 in video and audio as stated above
