Last chance to guess what Goku and Vegeta's new form will look like.

I was thinking at first it would be a "super saiyan 4" that looks something like Toriyama's prototype super saiyan 3 design. But now this page is making me think more of ultra instinct, so I wonder if the design will be influenced by that somewhat.

So, apparently it's Ultimate Goku vs Ultimate Vegeta.

I'm satisfied and it makes sense, instead of taking stuff from GT or DBS, they are taking stuff from DBZ itself.

I got to give it to Salagir on this one. While it's not an original form, the elder kai unlock was that special anti-transformation, and was to be the end all, be all, sort of like what Super Saiyan God was originally supposed to represent, right before merchandising demanded more color forms, and then UI was to be the end all be all, right before merchandising demanded more of that too.

Anyways, they figured it out without needing elder kai. They only drawback though is they need substantial time to reach the form, something Gohan doesn't need to worry about at least, so in a way he isn't irrelevant by Goku and Vegeta having the same form.

I guess they haven't mastered it yet, otherwise they would be using it all the time, considering it shouldn't have stamina drawbacks.

I'm not happy with why he didn't use it vs Uub. Like, if you know it takes a moment to turn it on, then do that before entering the arena, right? but I can headcanon my way out of there by pretending he wanted to use it vs Vegeta, he just underestimated Uub.

I knew Goku was going to have Vegeta's new form. I do like that the eyes change to the SS color loke Gohan did mid ritual.

He certainly did. Goku's clothes are all ripped and there are bruises all around his body. Looked like a gruesome fight.

It's a well known DB trope at this point. The speed of all that also brings Ultra Instinct to mind, especially Goku's pose at the end.

You have to wonder now if Vegetto has Ultimate too. Considering Goku and Vegeta both came up with the idea independently. Or maybe he was too arrogant and confident with SS3 he never thought about it. But now maybe now that he's aware he can train for it, we may still see Ultimate Vegetto before this is done?

I doubt he has Ultimate. He has long been the most powerful fighter in his universe. With no one to challenge him, he has no motivation to improve. By contrast, Goku and Vegeta constantly egg each other on, pushing each other to their limits. And of course, they had Uub as well. So while they may be on top now, they know that crown can be taken from them at any moment.

This is the reason Roshi disguised himself as Jackie Chun to prevent Goku from winning the tournament. He knew that if Goku saw himself as the best, he would become complacent. This will likely be Vegito's downfall.
