Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 3:23 am Goku - Clueless about anything and everything politics. Some have said Conservative, but I'd disagree. He likes fighting because it's fun, not because it represents masculine ideals. He also didn't know what kissing is, whether it's between two people of the opposite sex or the same sex wouldn't make a difference to him, he doesn't understand either

Chi-Chi - Conservative, values traditional family ideals

Vegeta - Reformed space nazi, but without interest in Earth politics unless it affects Bulma and Capsule Corp

Bulma - Socially Liberal, fiscally Conservative

Gohan - Liberal, progressive socialist

Videl - Supports whatever Gohan does

Trunks - Liberal, ally to whatever the movement of the day is

Goten - Follows whatever Trunks is doing

Piccolo - Apolitical

Tenshinhan - Apolitical

Yamcha - Liberal, specifically with regard to feminist issues

Krillin - Centrist, would be skeptical about both the right and the left and where either could go too far

#18 - Similar to Chi-Chi in terms of a mother's place being in the home but wouldn't be opposed to social change as long as it doesn't involve her

Mr Satan - Very much Liberal, all for social equality, protecting everyone's rights, giving money to the poor, etc

Freeza - Textbook example of a Fascist
I think these two should be switched. I REALLY dont like or agree with the idea that Videl would be THIS PASSIVE.

This forum is so over-dramatic that it's not even funny.

I didn't mean to imply Videl is passive, but I think out of love she would understand Gohan's progressive motives better than anyone else and support them because she recognizes his good intentions. Probably should have added that since Videl grew up in a household that was very Liberal, helped charities and were all about caring for others, herself and Gohan complimented one another perfectly.

I guess I’d like to throw my hat in the ring!

Goku: too oblivious to give a crap
Vegeta: monarchist, maybe holds Social “““Darwinist”””values
Bulma: Neoliberal, in the original non-buzzword sense
Krillin: Centrist liberal, definitely pro-cop, most likely to become politician
Gohan: Progressive liberal
Chi Chi: Conservative, traditionalist
Goten/Trunks: too naive and edgy to have anything more than half-baked opinions
Future Trunks: too jaded to give a crap
Android 18: Pragmatism, anything that benefits her the most in a certain time
Android 17: Environmentalist, would support the Greens
Yamcha: Center-right
Piccolo/Tenshinhan/Chaozu: center-libertarian, wants to be left alone
Oolong: libertarianism, but he is only in it for the little girls
Roshi: traditionalist on the outside, “sexual liberationist” in the inside (this is how I think he is such a misogynist)
Pilaf: absolute monarchist, but only if he’s the monarch
Freeza: autocratic kleptocracy

Rest in Peace, Toriyama-san

At the risk of getting into that whole can of worms, Musk did try to pass himself off as this cool progressive guy who’s cool with LGBTQ+ people and cares about the environment for a while. It wasn’t really until around 2019 or 2020 when he shifted to pandering more towards the far-right, presumably because more and more progressives were saying unflattering things about him. Basically, Musk is a manchild who craves validation, and will align with whichever side is willing to praise him the most.
Fair enough and accurate assessment

Z and GT Videl? Yeah probably not that passive

Leave it to Beaver Homemaker Videl in Super? Oh she absolutely is that passive.

However, Hitlers national socialism and communism are very similar, more than historians want to admit or they just don’t know… Hitler wrote his auto biography to state his stupid vision for the world, and in it made the statement

“hey I’m not a communist because I’m racist too, so please don’t get us mixed up because otherwise we are pretty similar .”

Paraphrasing? Yes I am but it really is a fascinating read.

Also can anybody remind me of president dog man is the king or was he president I don’t remember. And if so wasn’t he the king of the whole world or something? I need to do a rewatch I can’t quite remember.
Actual historian here, this is a prime example of how anti-intellectualism dumbs down discourse.

Anyone actually interested in this topic should look up the Strasser wing of the nazi party, and what happened to them during the Night of Long Knives, rather than listening to some guy on the internet saying "Hitler was pretty much a communist."

Also, Hitler is one of the single most-studied figures in history, so anyone saying that historians "just don't know" about the guy should just be ignored.

Well then, back to lurking. Cheers!
