DB Series TV-Size Karaoke Track discussions

Post by Brilliant_Gear_258 » Tue Apr 02, 2024 11:19 pm

From now on, this will be the thread to make conversations about the existing TV-size karaoke/instrumental tracks, made for the "Dragon Ball" series, from OG to Super, whenever it's the original themes or themes made for other dubs.

If I'm missing some other karaoke/instrumental tracks from other dubs of the series (either alternate themes or re-arranged versions of the original Japanese themes), let me know in the "Reply" section, and I'll update it. : )

We have some of the original karaoke/instrumental tracks (made undubbed) on the internet in high quality:
OG DB themes (Original OP and ED, sourced from original soundtrack)
DBZ themes (Original OP 1 and ED 1)
*note: Sourced from the AB Groupe-based dubs and the premiere broadcast on Cartoon Network Brazil.
DBZ TV Special 2 (ED theme, Original Source: AB Groupe's French-based dubs)
DBGT themes (OP and ED 1, Original Source: French dub)
DBZ Kai themes (OPs 1 - 3 and EDs 1 - 8 )
DBS themes (OPs 1 - 2 and EDs 1 - 11)

Some of the instrumentals never had an official high quality mix, instead it's heard in low mono quality audio:
DBZ Movie themes (EDs 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9, Source: French-based dubs)
DBZ TV Special 1 theme (ED Theme, Source: French-based dubs)
DBZ themes (Japanese OP 2 and ED 2, used in Buu Saga, made for French VHS releases, and can be heard in the Greek and Romanian dubs, especially DeAgostini's Italian VHS releases)
*note: OP 2 and ED 2 instrumentals are reuploaded countless times on YT, since it used the original backvocals track, but removed from using AI Vocal Remover software tool

Even some instrumentals/karaoke tracks are hard to find due to being unreleased, for now:
DBZ French theme (Version 2 Karaoke Track, Only existence is in an official cassette release in Catalonia)
OG DB Cantonese theme (TVB, unreleased)
OG DB Korean themes (Daewon dub, 2 Versions, unreleased)
OG DB Korean theme (SBS dub, unreleased)
DBZ Korean theme (SBS dub, unreleased)
DBZ Korean theme (Tooniverse dub, OP and ED, unreleased)
DBZ Themes (Catalan dub, ED 1, Unreleased)
DBZ Themes (European Spanish dub, OP and ED, unreleased)
DBZ Themes (Galician dub, OP 1 and ED 1, unreleased)
OG DB Movie 3 ED (Only existence is in Prisvideo's VHS release)
OG DB Funimation/BLT dub (OP theme, unreleased)
DBZ Ocean/Saban theme (OP theme, probably unreleased, but recreated by people on YT)
DBZ Westwood theme (Unreleased, but everyone tries to recreate it multiple times)
DBZ Movies 7, 10, 11, 12 and 13 (Probably lost in time)
DBGT Themes (EDs 2 - 4)

Other dubbed themes (TV-Size instrumental/karaoke track), founded online in good quality:
OG DB (Blue Water Studios dub, OP instrumental, used as ED theme)
DBZ French Theme (Version 1 Karaoke Track and Instrumental Track, also used for European Spain dubs)
DBZ French Theme (Version 3 Karaoke Track, *Can only be heard in the Serbian, Spain and Greek dubs, since France never had an full instrumental version)
OG DB Theme (RTL German dub, *can be heard through an official soundtrack released in Germany)
DBZ Theme (Mediaset Italian dub, unknown source?)

DB Instrumental/Karaoke tracks, faithful to the Japanese themes:
OG DB Themes (Creative Products dub, OP and ED themes)
*note: Only the OP is used for the 1996 Indonesian dub on Indosiar.
OG DB Movies 1 - 3 (RTL2 German dub, OP theme)
DBZ Themes (Catalan dub, OP 1)
DBZ Themes (RTL2 German dub, OPs 1 - 2 and ED 2 both karaoke and instrumental tracks)
DBZ Movie 13 ED Theme (RTL2 German dub, Instrumental Track, can be heard in one of the movies, which utilized Japanese OP 2 footage)
DBZ Movie themes (Creative Products dub, OP and Movie 6 ED Theme)
DBGT Theme (RTL2 German dub, OP theme karaoke track, can be heard in one of the official "Anime Hits" soundtrack from Germany)
DBGT Theme (Portuguese-Portugal dub, OP theme, 3 versions depending on some cassette releases and broadcasts in Portugal)

DBZ French theme (Episodes 1 - 199 version, Only existence is in an official cassette release in Catalonia)
pure shit talk i'll correct it again hoping you'll finally understand
1 - THERE IS 3 Dragon BALL Z French Opening version not 2 , the 1-199 story is pure bullshit, i don't know which low brain people spread this shit originally. France never followed the japanese placement
v1 with episode 1 footage was used for few years, it was even used for the first vhs release of movies 1-9 + tvsp 1-2
v2 was used since between namek and cell saga (i don't exactly remember when they choose to change op) it have slight arrangement change in the music for the tv size version (mostly in the beginning of the song)
v3 (that is litterally the same footage as v2 with new arrangement) was made in 1995 so around episode 220-230

each time a new song was made, all rerun since that time used this new song
opening aren't and weren't attached to the episode files footage, it was attached for the airing, AB used to have until 2009 around xxxx version of the same episode from each previous airings that was randomly picked for each tv airing later used, the result was that sometimes you could have uncensored version, sometimes the more cut version and opening could be v1 v2 or v3 randomly (or sometimes no op at all) that was how france aired db,z

v1 and v2 have been released into Vinyl in France with their instrumental track
here v1 Image
https://www.popsike.com/DISQUE-VINYL-45 ... 36349.html
it is said "instrumental track on B face"
same for v2
https://www.discogs.com/es/release/1375 ... gon-Ball-Z
v3 never got any official instrumental release from what i know but was made in 1995
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x52v0g7
it was like the db 1995 version, made for a CD release

so please when you don't perfectly know something, use a "perhaps" or something like that instead of spreading bullshit like if you know something about french airings

as an illustration here are the 3 op fr
v1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFPB4bXrT74
v2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A21-0Il2ZD4
v3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWYVKVfA3kg

exactly the same as dragon ball that have 2 versions
v1 was used most of the time if not for the whole first run https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3p8260
v2 was used to for most rerun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFPB4bXrT74

all 3 aren't the same (v2 and v3 only have same footage) it's clearly differrent and none are specific to any episode , the v1 was used in the first run as i said above until somewhere between namek and cell saga , i only remember that v1 was also used for first vhs movies editions (1-9 + tvsp1-2 as i allways have them) and v2 started to be used until 1995 where as a kind of advertisement for the CD made this year, they only change music using the v3 95 remix song
so not 1-199 and 200+ used the v3 (it's a stupid argument made by someone that visibly never follow the french first run)

dvd and reruns could lead to error as they were made using random version of each episode so you had the op used the time this version was aired
as an example dragon ball dvd have v2 opening (the same used by german ) and some other later episodes used v1 opening cause they are sourced from the original airing
AB1 , ab cartoon (mangas) also randomly aired using random version for every episode

i remember for example buying an episode from z androïd saga the same time it rerun on mangas tv channel
the vhs was heavilly censored
the airing was perfectly uncensored

And where would these have come from, if not the actual physical media?
Aside which some of these wouldn't have been released on CD when they came out, only cassette or some other analog medium (sometimes not even).

Should mention the primary sources for these things next time.

I really don't see at all how that first post necessitated such an angry, over-the-top response. There's nothing that couldn't have been accomplished by simply removing all the toxicity -- you still have an informative, helpful, reasonable response with out it.

As an evidence of what i was saying
someone posted on x partially his "recording" of the ep right after vegeta became majin from the original french broadcast
https://twitter.com/GeekHillZone/status ... 47/video/1
as you can see
it's NOT the third version of the french opening song (the one claim to be 200-291 one) it's allways the 2nd one
