Both the Japanese PSN listing and the official Japanese website never wavered on their description of it being single-player for the same local console. Looking at what everyone's talking about, the English PSN is (back to?) saying single player, as well.

This is why you need to be careful about saying "confirmed" and "all but confirmed"...!

It's possible that it went up too early or it was just a mistake

But I hope the game has local play for people who still do couch co-op

That means they have to decrease the graphics, spend extra dev time on it. It's a thing mostly of the past, with exception of Nintendo's games.

Call of Duty and games like that still have local split screen multiplayer so I wouldn't lose hope just yet.

But yeah I think people jumped the gun with the PS listing, let Bamco tell us there' local multiplayer. Maybe we'll see it this month.

How can local vs mode be a thing of the past, when people still has family? Brothers, sisters, parents, cousins, etc, they would want to play with each other in the same house. Then there are friends that likes to play together in the same house.

To play online with the people in the same house they would need these:

- 2 TV
- 2 Consoles or PC.
- 2 Games
- 2 Subscription Service depending what system that person plays (PC doesn't need subscription service)
Those are required to play 2 players in the same house. 3 players would require 3x of each instead of 2x.

Local play means that person only need 1 TV, 1 console and 1 game only.

With online play being so huge, it has become less of a priority, considering it takes development costs to create offline multiplayer, especially with a splitscreen fighter like this one. Basically, the existing game has to be rendered twice so that's why the graphics often take a hit with these kinds of games.

It'd be nice if it has the split screen option, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me, I'm not 15 anymore so I don't have people coming over to play videogames, but when I do, they usually suck at videogames or at that particular videogame, so it becomes boring to play against an amateur who can barely grasp the controls.

And that's why the companies opt not to include Local Play. More copies, consoles and subscriptions are sold this way, unfortunately. Instead of going to your friend's house to play the game, nowadays you have to buy it.

New trailer showed story mode, it'll have what if situations - you can choose at specific points what you want to do:

After Raditz kidnaps Gohan - go with Piccolo or go Alone - if you go Alone....Krilllin follows you

Goku goes SSJ against Great Ape Vegeta

Vegeta and Trunks Father Son Final Flash vs Cell

So it's confirmed that we're getting what-if scenarios.
Didn't one of the old famicon games do the story like this?
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

I'm wondering if Basil will have two forms, he has a form where he gets buff and gets red eyes

You can create your own Story Mode apparently, I wonder how in depth this will be...

Apparently Local Multiplayer is confirmed, but it's locked to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for some reason. I guess consoles couldn't handle the other stages being rendered twice over.

20+ DLC characters as part of a collector's edition is crazy. Cool to have it confirmed, though. Also back to the old days of Broly being ubiquitous in marketing/packaging/merchandise like Z Broli was in the old days...

Now that you mention it, Basil seems to be in his red-eye buff form in that screenshot, This leads me to believe that this is a team super, and not Bergamo's ultimate, meaning Basil and Lavender are playable.

Well, at the very least they will throw in some "tweaks" in the story mode. I'll be sure to check the new scenarios, which, if Goku going Super Saiyan in Saiyan saga is anything to go by, will be interesting. I expect that level of "alternate path", not "Goku fought Raditz barefoot, so here's him with boots!". It would still be a lot better if the story mode was an original one, but I'll take this.

My boy looking clean, though:

And he better have Super Saiyan or at least the Time Breaker armor. We are not in pre-2010s anymore.

Indeed it is. I saw a few days ago some fanart and when I looked at it, I thought: "wait, did they just take an image from the Internet!?". Spike still think that meshing a lot of characters together like that is a good idea, when it's just visual pollution.
