I saw people complaining that the final match of this tournament was the most disappointing thing they’ve seen in this fanmanga, and honestly, they make some good points:

Look at the cover of the chapter showing Goku in his shining new form and figures of the opponents he faced in past tournament finals. Gast seemed like he had a chance, and XXI made it clear that it wouldn’t be easy against Goku. The idea of the protagonist having a shot at doing something better than the presumed strongest character in this fanmanga (Vegetto) is a great premise...

But maybe that’s not the story Salagir wanted to tell. The ‘Z’ portion of DB never really cared about keeping the tournaments consistent, just look at how the Cell Games, 25th, and 28th Tenkaichi Budokai played out. So maybe the real story starts now, but honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just as disappointing as this final match
