I'm pretty sure they're all just busy with family stuff.

You know, there's a certain irony to Toyotaro not being given proper credit for something.

Glad the super anime is back but I really hope the manga continues. Weird how there’s no news about it at all.

Also wondering how orange piccolo and beast
Gohan will fit into the remaster. Piccolo and Gohan have some cool fights in the Moro arc.

It feels very much like how Koyama and any other creator at Toei Animation is treated. I imagine there's some sort of legally built in nonsense about how the original creator—Toriyama—automatically owns and is credited as the creator of all characters, even if he didn't actually create them.

When Tony Todd was alive, I wanted him to voice Moro. His voice would have been perfect for the role.

Don't know if they would've been able to afford him, though. Film actor plus SAG pay. They really kill anime dubs unless you're a Ghibli film.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

The only way I can see someone like Tony Todd voicing a Dragon Ball character is if he was actually a fan of the franchise and is be willing to take a lower paycheck.

That's great. Hopefully Super (2026) will get lots of international media attention and Filipino fans won't have to wait as long for a Tagalog dub.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

This announcement made me go back and reread the Moro arc this week, and it really great. In my opinion, it’s the closest Dragon Ball Super ever got to feeling like classic DBZ.

Things I’d like to see the anime expand on: Merus and Goku’s training and their growing friendship, Piccolo and Gohan’s training, Vegeta’s time on Namek, the Z Fighters taking on Moro’s forces (Yamcha actually getting to fight again!), and more focus on the Galactic Patrol as a whole.
Just sit here and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, don't do it right away. Don't do it when you can. Read my posts instead. It's the only way to live a life without regrets.

Yep. That's how they got James Marsters for Zamasu. He's a big fan of the series & leapt at the chance to redeem himself for Evolution (even though he wasn't responsible for it being bad). He even took no pay for it. He did it out of pure passion.

This is the timeline I think they'll follow:

October 2026 - September 2027: Super remake (Beerus to Broly).
October 2027 - March 2028: Moro
October 2028 - March 2029: Granola
October 2029 - March 2030: Super Hero
October 2030 - ???: Whatever comes next.

They'd have to. Super Hero literally takes place the year before the end of the manga, as Pan's 3 in it & 4 when the original manga & Z ended.

If Dragon Ball moves past End of Z, I think it'll be under a new series instead of Super. I can see whatever's going on with Black Freeza taking place before end of Z during that one year period that remains.

As long as the Z fighters doesn't see or hear Freeza causing trouble, then they would have no reason to fight him.

Y'know, Super: Beerus' announcement and Super: The Galactic Patrol bring me back to 2013. Does anyone remember this trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwIs718L2eU)? When this game was coming out, Battle of Gods hadn't been dubbed by Funimation (now Crunchyroll) yet. But seeing DBZ make a big comeback and hearing Beerus and Whis dubbed for the first time was a surreal experience for a fan like me who spent his whole childhood up to his teen years in a Dragon Ball drought. The games and merch were really the only things keeping Dragon Ball alive back then. But 2013 changed everything. And sure, Super and beyond didn't exactly live up to my hopes of a new DB series, but regardless, Dragon Ball returned. And now, I'm getting those vibes again. I think whenever we hear Moro and Merus dubbed in the games (maybe a trailer like the one I linked above), it'll really bring me back. I guess, long story short, just like in 2013, it feels like we're entering a new age of Dragon Ball (literally when you consider Age 1000).

And I just thought about something else. The timing of this announcement works out perfectly for people like Chris Sabat. My Hero Academia just ended and even though All Might already wasn't a big player towards the latter half of MHA, Sabat was still featured throughout. With MHA over, Super returning gives him another source of steady income. That and Black Clover returning this year too. But yeah, really excited that Dragon Ball's back, obviously.

Huh? Is this thread really necessary? I mean, not only is it about something we might only get to follow in like two years, but it’s still Dragon Ball Super, not some brand-new series or anything, so we could just keep talking about it in the old announcement thread without any issues, but anyway...

I’ve got this gut feeling that Dragon Ball will never go past its original manga ending out of respect for Akira Toriyama. He was never interested in creating stories set after that point, and he made that pretty clear more than once.

I know that at the end of the day this franchise is about selling toys and other merchandise, but I feel like they’ll respect the original author’s wishes. I even theorize that this might be one of the reasons they’re not announcing this Galactic Patrol arc for this year already and instead starting from scratch with a remaster of Dragon Ball Super from the first arc up to the most recent one. That would give them time to figure out what the future of the series is going to be, how they’re going to deal with all that Black Freeza nonsense, whether there’ll be something new after that, or if they’ll just end it one day before EoZ.

The problem is that Superhero was set roughly a year or even less before the end of Z, so how many more stories can you fit within a few months' time frame ? Black Freeza will either be the final story in this modern era, or things will move past the end of Z. I guess another possibility is that Black Freeza wraps up the Super story line, then Dragon Ball shift focus to the Daima continuity and continue on from there, but that seems even less likely due to how heavily involved Toriyama was with that project.
