Yup, I agree with you. Plus, once Moro Saga is animated in Dragon Ball Super, he (Planet Eater Moro) and Merus will be making their console Dragon Ball videogame debut on either Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 3, or Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra, or Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (or a sequel), or Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero videogames. Alongside with Galactic Patrol outfits for both Goku and Vegeta.

Waiting for this is a big reason I have halted all my custom battle efforts... Come on!
My personal bet is, that this is the last DLC before Moro is animated and comes out... but I might be wrong, as we will probably get Moro represented like 1 year later since it premieres on TV, therefore they will definitely pull some lower effort cash-grab stunt

They probably going to have another expansion DLC pack (Meteor DLC) that covers the original Dragon Ball characters, several of Dragon Ball Z characters, Dragon Ball Daima characters, more Dragon Ball Super characters (especially Planet Eater Moro, Merus, Susanno Goku, and Grand Daikaioh), and Dragon Ball GT characters as well as more playable stages/maps including Mountain Road, Mount Paozu, King's Castle, Muscle Tower, Planet M2, Planet Imecka, Planet Tuffle, Hell, and etc.
More costumes for the characters such as Teen Gohan (w/long hair and Rit Saiyan armor (the one when Bulma gave the armor to the Z-fighters during the Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z)), Future Trunks (Long hair w/Capsule Corporation sleeveless jacket (Bojack Unbound film), Farmer Goku (Super), Blue and White track suit for Goku, Blue collar short sleeve shirt for Vegeta, Krillin w/Hair (Buu Saga), Pikkon without his weigh clothes, Badman pink collar short sleeve shirt Vegeta (the one that he wore when Future Trunks arrived in 20 years in the past to stop against Mecha Frieza and King Cold), Tien Shinhan (Buu Saga outfit), Yamcha (Buu Saga outfit), Goku (GT) damaged gi outfit, Vegeta (GT) red tank top damaged outfit, and etc.

I forgot to add Kid Chi-Chi in the original Dragon Ball section, but since we got the young adult version of Chi-Chi (23rd Budokai Tenkaichi Tournament Saga) that is going to be in the roster for the upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero's Super Limit-Breaking Neo DLC drops on July 30, 2026. I think I am fine without the kid version of Chi-Chi.

I do not believe the hypothetical next expansion will cover Super 2.0., but will instead focus on the remaining characters from early DB, Z, GT, Daima, and Super 1.0. I believe everything in the Moro arc and beyond will be saved for a full-blown sequel; as those new arcs can be the main selling point of it.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
I suspect/hope that any any future Moro or Granolah DLC would come in the form of smaller isolated packs that are easy to exclude, like with the Fake Broli and Super Hero and Daima stuff.

Any chance there are more characters coming they haven't revealed yet? I believe there are 33 (34 with Devilman who is still being kept away). Maybe we'll get a couple more?

When we saw Devilman fighting Goku Black, it looked like a cutscene rather than actual gameplay

I am curious about Yamcha's Episode Battle. Could they be using this as an opportunity to patch out Furuya? Yamcha was notably missing from the XV2 finale and I imagine it was because of the change.

Wait... why did they mention this showcase would show the "remaining" characters? Did they cancel poor Devilman?
There will not be another Sparking Zero expansion for a long fucking time. It takes them months to release smaller DLC packs, probably three times as long to release full-blown expansions, and a decent length of time between all of that to roadmap.
If there is another hypothetical expansion or year-long season pass, it will more than likely come out while the Moro adaptation is underway or at least close. There's no way in Funimation's HFIL that they're not going to take advantage of the marketing to release Moro-related content.

I'm assuming that they've been working on it, or at least planning it alongside NEO, as that would enable them to release it sometime next year. If they were to release Moro content as DLC for this game, what would they have left for the sequel ? This is one of the best selling games in the franchise, so of course a sequel is at least being considered.Mr Baggins wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 12:37 pm Wait... why did they mention this showcase would show the "remaining" characters? They've specifically positioned this game for long-term support. They spent all of last year developing Switch ports and working on major content updates in the vein of Xenoverse 2.
They're not thinking about what to include in another Sparking game when they've made it clear their main focus is to keep adding to this one. Moro is coming to the anime next year.
Do you even Bandai, bro?

Xenoverse 2 was initially going to stop getting support far sooner than it actually did due to how successful it was, so this game could very well end up in a similar situation now that I think about it.Mr Baggins wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2026 11:29 amThey've specifically positioned this game for long-term support. I keep forgetting about Devilman. It’s weird that they’d be secretive about him of all characters, unless he’s not actually playable.
I know a lot of people were apparently hoping for GT Goten, but I can’t say I’m the least bit surprised that he isn’t here. I consider it much more disappointing that we currently don’t have Eis or Cyborg Tao. Yeah, sure, they’re probably being saved for the Meteor expansion, but considering how much love the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai arc has gotten, Cyborg Tao’s absence stands out in particular.
It would also be neat if we eventually get Rilldo, but I can understand that his three forms would require more unique assets than most of these other DLC characters.

I was not aware we are getting more story content; this expansion is basically a new game at this point. I hope they go further with the next expansion and include content missing from the stories they already have, like Piccolo and Vegeta's.
Re: "Sparking! ZERO" Official Announcement, Pre-, & Post-Release Discussion Thread
Now that stories can be added (with Yamcha, Ten Shin Han, Krilin and Cell being added this time), what are the four or five characters you would want added in story episodes (which likely include what-ifs again) in the next major update?
Pick your choice knowing that characters from GT and Z movies are not an option, as the story goes through the Z-Super main continuity.
In the meantime, GT is not included as separate DLC we can avoid (which I would have thought they would do before the few GT characters were revealed, just like with Fighterz), but at least the characters and forms are clearly highlighted with an indication that they're from GT for every single one of them, even when there's no need to make them distinct from any other version, as if it was just needed to warn "this is from that other side-thing called GT, not the main stuff the rest of the game focuses on" or as if to give us the possibility to clearly avoid selecting them knowing where they come from. That's at least a good point, as is their total exclusion from the story mode, because we want the real events, right?
Gotta love it when the games themselves show you that Super is not an option and is a non-negociable part of the main story and main content of the franchise but GT is an optional afterthought, like "if we have some time and space to spare at some point, we'll give you a LITTLE BIT of it, not too much though, okay?" Fighterz was great at that too!
And YEAH, I'm just messing with you because your stubborn pure-hatred anti-Super attitude as if NOT A SINGLE GOOD THING ever came from it gets tedious sometimes. To me, ideally, every aspect of the franchise should be represented so that everyone can enjoy it to their own preferences!
If there were GT story chapters, I would actually play them too despite not liking GT, and I do not understand why they wanted to specify "GT" even for characters who don't need it since it sorts of sidelines GT as an indication of "this is an abnormal inclusion from something else entirely"! They don't specify "Glorio (Daima)" or "Dyspo (Super)", so why go with "Baby (GT)" and "Omega Shenron (GT)" if it's not to somehow sideline GT?

Not sure, as it will the biggest update to the franchise for a long time, with a pretty big hype that would go along well with the hype of a major update. Plus, the whole game's presentation, menus and encyclopedia already make it clear that the franchise is now represented by Super as a priority - as it should be of course - and it will only increase with the focus on the new outstanding Super series coming up.Kaboom wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 9:20 am I suspect/hope that any any future Moro or Granolah DLC would come in the form of smaller isolated packs that are easy to exclude, like with the Fake Broli and Super Hero and Daima stuff.

I would love an entire what if scenario written around Hit, where he's assigned to kill all the classic DB and Z antagonists, but somehow messes up each and every time, resulting in them dying or being reformed the way we know happened. Better yet, have him receive really bad intel that results in him going after the weakest of characters, like mistaking Cui for Freeza, Raditz for Vegeta, and so on.Cold Skin wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 6:54 amNow that stories can be added, what are the four or five characters you would want added in story episodes in the next major update?
Another what if I'd like to see is for King Piccolo, where he doesn't die but instead goes on to play the role our Piccolo did in the following arcs. How would all those stories play out if we replace our Piccolo with him ? King Piccolo training Gohan, King Piccolo on Namek, King Piccolo fusing with Kami, etc.
Although that may not be the case now, I would like to see these added to the existing character stories, like having us fight Slug if we defeat Freeza with the Spirit Bomb, or have Goku and Vegeta go Ssj4 against Golden Freeza if they decide to not train with Whis.Cold Skin wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 6:54 amPick your choice knowing that characters from GT and Z movies are not an option, as the story goes through the Z-Super main continuity.
I'm not the biggest fan of the modern era myself, but I don't carry that into the games, as I believe the more characters and overall content we get the better. What this game is doing is basically representing every part of the franchise equally, which is something I'm completely on board with. Once the next expansion drops, I expect we will be able to recreate nearly every battle from every part of the franchise, both classic and modern.Cold Skin wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 6:54 amAnd YEAH, I'm just messing with you because your stubborn pure-hatred anti-Super attitude as if NOT A SINGLE GOOD THING ever came from it gets tedious sometimes.
