At first I thought they were gonna be clips of the theatrical show Dragon Ball Z En Vivo produced by Mexican company Tycoon Gou in the same year but these are from a whole different show that I never seen before.

EDIT: Ah, now that I watched more, it's actually Dragon Ball Z En Vivo but being promoted on a Peruvian show. Yes, I can tell from the pre-recorded voices.

For folks outside Latin America, Dragon Ball Z En Vivo had most of the original voice cast from the Latin American Spanish dub reprising their roles.

There's a bit of script on the destruction because geez, I never heard characters stating that they will destroy each other or using the word destroy MANY times.

Also, Vegeta's been reduced to a guy who's evil because he thinks it's just cool. Where's the ruthless and proud warrior that we know Vegeta for? Certainly, that version of Vegeta is not on this stage show.

The choreography, effects and pre-recorded voices with the original Latin American cast are amazing but the script is something you can expect from FUNimation's early days.

In that interview, he says that the stage show started out as an unauthorized production that almost got screwed by lawyers because he didn't have the rights for it but then it became official after he invited them to the show.

I will see what i can do as I'm a Yiddish Canadian (& not a Latino (nor Latino Canadian)) & only got it in my recommended feed after watching Chapulin Colorado (Mexican Super Hero Comedy Show) clips (I don't speak or read either dialect spanish)but I am currently listening to it being auto dubbed in English to see if i can figure anything out.

Not much info besides that it was available not only in Mexico but in all the countries where the show was on as well, the audio was also sold on CDs and at that least in my country, it was published by Warner Music.

Yes, I can confirm that's him. Since this stage show started out as an unauthorized production, the budget wasn't big enough to get everyone from the dub to reprise their roles.

There's also Carlos Segundo replacing José Lavat as the narrator.

Let me ask you:
Why is it weird?

In Mexico (I am mexican born and raised ) and let me tell you something: It happens with every kid show here.

Previously discussed most appropriate age for Dragon Ball would probably be PG 13, however, being a Latin American country in Mexico almost any animation is considered to be ok for children to watch, because "it is just cartoons, it is not real bla blah blah... even shows like Ren and Stimpy , SouthPark and the Simpsons were aired on open TV, which means anyone could watch them.

Having stated that, we must also consider the childish fantasy of meeting your heroes live, in flesh. Shows like that one promoted exactly that. The show is from 1997 probably. It happened with way too many shows and movies from Disney, Pixar, etc. They happen in a Teather. Sometimes it's on ice or part of circus. It is very common and not so cheap form of entertainment for families.
