The game takes place like a couple of centuries before the movies, none of the characters and events from the films have appeared nor happened. It pretty much just takes the title and certain things from the Star Wars universe.
Anyway, like most movie based games this looks like(IF it does come out)It will be another crappy action game. Very few movie games are actually any good.

Spiderman 2's video game just blew balls. It was terrible, but Superman Returns was worse.

in the case of spiderman 2, i think it was the first time we could really use his power so freely so the game wasnt that bad
