Bah. I now know that no matter what they do to the engine of B3 it's gonna be sucky compared to what I want. What is it I want you ask? A Zone of the Enders style system! YES! I got ZoE the other day and what everyone says is true. With just a little tweaking it would make the most kick ass DBZ game to ever exist.
But will it ever be done, no! Why? For reasons... I don't know them all. But it still sucks.

<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

God dammit, me, too! Hopefully with them promoting such fusions in this game so hugely lately they'll actually DO so this time...SDHero wrote:I wish they'd make the fusions playable characters on their own rather than skills you can use, though.

I cant say Budokai's fighting engine is really truely original, its actually a lot like Mortal Kombat:Deadily Alliance in the way it makes use of combos that your going to have to memorize if you want to be any good at the game.Deus ex Machina wrote:What, didn't you see the rules stating that all DBZ games must use a generic fighting engine, and absolutely can't use any kind of originality?Xyex wrote:But will it ever be done, no! Right now, Budokai's biggest flaw is the every character has the same move set and they all play way too similiar, Mortal Kombat:Deadily Alliance had the same problem, and its being heavily addressed in the 6th Mortal Kombat game - MK:Deception.
I'm curious though if Budokai 3 will manage to address that problem as well, I mean lets face it, imagine playing a Street Fighter game with nothing but Ryu and Ken wannabes *cough* Street Fighter Alpha 3*cough*

I would love to be able to start a battle, already in a fusion. Even better would be if you could fuse two customised characters. Take my level 50 Goku, and a friends level 50 Vegeta to become a level 50 Vegetto, with all the techniques both characters learned. Now that would kick ass.
I wouldn't hold your breath; from what it looks like already, Atari is probably cutting corners in that aspect in favour of having more characters and transformations. I cringed when at the end of the trailer they used Goku's "Hey, you okay?" taunt from all the way back from Budokai 1...>.< God, how hard is it to get just a few new sound effects?I'm curious though if Budokai 3 will manage to address that problem as well, I mean lets face it, imagine playing a Street Fighter game with nothing but Ryu and Ken wannabes *cough* Street Fighter Alpha 3*cough*
Especially since almost the entire voice cast will be there doing the voices for the new characters.
Which does raise a point: Brolly was done by a non-FUNi VA, wasn't he? So are they going to pay to get him to come along and do the vocals for a video game? Or will someone (OMG Chris Sabat I am shocked!) try and do an impression of him?

Actually, Atari isnt the developer of the game, Dimps is, and...Deus ex Machina wrote:I wouldn't hold your breath; from what it looks like already, Atari is probably cutting corners in that aspect
pwns
Although whats weird is...both are apart of Sammy Studio's
Dimps did Seven Samurai 20XX (wasnt that good of a game, very medicore), and as most of us here should know, Arc System Works did GUILTY GEAR (Super extreme mondo awesome cool 2D fighting game series)

The Magic Box has more Budokai 3 screens. Nothing spectacular, but we get to see some more of the levels, including a bigass fish.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Concerning being able to start as fusions, yeah, that'd be cool. For the dance ones you should have to input the buttons at the start, and if you goof you're into is you screwing up the fusion, and then you have to fight like that the whole match. If you get it then your intro is the correct fusion and you stay that way the whole match.
As for the Potara ones, once you gain them via the story mode/dragon road or whatever, they should be selectable as well, and just have their own intro's and outro's. And since stats exist in dragon road then that wouldn't make the likes of Vegetto instantly more powerful than the others like it would have in B2.
Of course, if you have the potara fusions already selectable you have to give Buu an absorption like skill that causes it to cancel out give you back the base characters to use in the fight instead of the fusion. ^_^

That would wonderful! Having a possible penalty for using the fusion dance incorrectly at the beginning (and being stuck with fat Gogeta or some such for the match) would largely cancel out the sometimes overpowered nature of the characters.Xyex wrote:Concerning being able to start as fusions, yeah, that'd be cool. I also hope the story mode is more than just playing as Goku, that got old hella fast.

If Prima's guide to B3 is the same as the game cover than prepare to be disappointed. (It was in SJ #21 next to the Bojack Unbound ad)Izlude wrote:I think its time for another mock up cover of mine now that the offical logo has been released -
