Where the fuck is Piccolo?!![]()
Is the all powerful Piccolo Daimao too good to be drawn by a 1st grader?
I'm assuming he was on the other side of Gohan. Or his amazingness could have just transcended this horrible shot.
I know there's worse than this in that horrible drawn out Cell fight.... I just don't have the time to look for it now.

Originally Turles was holding Gohan's eyes open, forcing him to look at the moon. Well you can't have that in the dub so they edited away Turles's hand and didn't bother to try and make Gohan's eyes presentable looking. The funny thing is that exact scene is in "Rock The Dragon" in its full glory.Pain wrote:What the fuck is that?!SSj_Rambo wrote:This is almost as bad as the visual edits Saban made to the series:

Edit: Ooooh I see what you did there.

Yep, Saban made tons of visual edits to the series (I know a hilarious video that features most of the best ones if you are interested) that were really unnecessary.NeptuneKai wrote:Originally Tullece was holding Gohan's eyes open, forcing him to look at the moon. That picture is so funny that this forums member Timo made a custom avatar based on that shot:

*wants DBox comparison shots* wow, just... wow.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
This is one of the challenges for DB/ Z cel collectors. There was a few episodes where the artwork was nothing but amazing, such as this:

and this:
http://genkidama.rubberslug.com/gallery ... mID=214227
These are from my collection. Theres some DBZ cels I wouldn't touch for any amount of money.

I remember the Vegeta III one, I never made that comparison, but I always thought he looked awful in that shot.
As for the Gohan one, LOVED IT. I hope no one minds I used it for my avatar

I enjoy the Dragon Ball original AND Dub, even the VHS Fan-Sub's.

Yeah, to try and respond to the initial post in the topic, I've noticed a lot of poorly drawn bits and pieces in the series, particularly in the early episodes. I think it's just part of the natural progression that occurs when a cartoon is on the air for so long--the more you draw something, the easier it gets, and the faster you'll be able to draw it.
I mean, look at the Simpsons--the initial animation was, quite frankly, horrible. But all the years that it's been on the air has given the animators valuable experience, and they were able to shell out high quality drawings in a very short period of time. You can really do the same thing with the Dragonball series. Take the first episode of DBZ and compare it to the last; you'll find a drastic improvement when it comes to overall style and quality.
And while I'm rather new to this community, it seems Gohan looking particularly stylish in that screenshot is a bit of a meme. I'll be sure to catch on soon enough. =P
