Bandai's New DragonBall Figures...

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Wed Jan 14, 2009 2:05 am

Hmm, says they're coming out in January, which would mean these are either out or coming out really, really soon. They look just as good as the previous line. This time you form Porunga...

Also looks like we will see the next line in March. Boo in Boo Battle!

To be honest, I don't like how it looks like that, but it's the sort of thing I bet would look great posed.

At first I thought Goku came with a Blue and Gold purse, then I realized it was part of the Porunga figure.

I imagine if I saw that in stores, I'd pick it up just to have a Goku figure to sit on my desk. (I love having stuff like toys surrounding my monitor)

The backdrop of the box reminds me a lot of the cover of DBZ season 6... and that puts a bad taste in my mouth right off the bat. I agree with Kingdom Heartless, they do seem like they would look better when the picture is not taken with a layer of plastic in the way and when the figure is actaully posed.

Still waiting after all these years for a turtle-school clad Yamcha. Ah to dream a dream.

Tell me about it. It's really annoying to have EVERYONE right in their classic gear in toy form, but Yamcha has to stand around in yellow because he looked like that for a few episodes in the Buu era. >.>

I liked the toys in this line from the first wave OK, but it would be nice if they scaled them back up, these things are tiny, and moreover why do we need two super saiyan Goku's in this line, the last wave had one too, I'm pretty sure we don't need to have him re released THAT quickly when theres so many other toy possibilities!

The super saiyajin in this set is Son Gohan.

Ah so it is, I misread.

That said why do we need Gohan to be wearing Goku's gi in this toy? Pretty damn lazy, considering Gohan pretty much never wears that, and they're just using the same mold Goku has, except the head.

There's actually been sighting of these already in stores all over the place, as well as several other new Dragonball figures from Bandai, such as new Quick Changers... I don't have any of these wave 2 figures as of yet, but I do plan on picking up as least a few.

I was one of those people that actually liked wave 1, but I do seem to be the minority. Most peoples complaint is that they are to small to fin in with other their 5" scale DB figure - and argument I guess I can understand on some level... But generally, the sculpts on these are not bad, and thats pretty much all I care about, hahaha. They certainly aren't the best DB figures ever, but worth a look for sure.

All the best,

I think this wave was release early because I already have three of the figures Goku, Vegeta & Vegetto. The figures themselves look really good, but I'm leaving them in the packages as I think they'll be worth more.

There's no reason to get that fig over the Hybrid Goku, really. Just take it apart, superglue some of the loose joints on the Hybrid and it'll be almost just as sturdy.
The last thing we need is ANOTHER bunch of Super Saiyans we already got 9001 figures of.

If it was a better shade of orange and had better articulation, then it'd be a great more sturdy alternate.

I don't get people who leave these things in the packaging.

Surely, you can't ENJOY it that way, can you? Why buy something you aren't going to use? There are better alternatives in terms of actual INVESTMENTS, that would probably provide a greater return than the figures.

I just don't get it. =/

Yeah, that's how I feel.... but I always feel like I shouldn't be taking them out.

But it's not like I ever plan to sell them, anyway.

It's just because too many people "believe" that's what collectors do.
