I have been playing the Blue Dragon game too, It gets much better as the game progresses but it depends if you like the RPG style.Kingdom Heartless wrote:I started playing that game last night, actually.
So far it hasn't drawn me in much, but I'm happy they had a Japanese voice option.
Personally I'm addicted, It just takes a lot of time to level up so you need to fight lots of baddies, and with few savepoints this can sometimes be a drag when you have to switch the console off to go out, and you have not reached a savepoint after an hour or so of playing!
It sort of reminds me of Pokemon and Final Fantasy in the fighting style of the game, but look carefully at the characters clothing. Definitely Akira Toriyama's work.

Well, I'm definitely into RPGs. I've played a few of the Final Fantasy games (VI is my favourite, which is III in the US), and I love Dragon Quest VIII and the Pokemon games aswell. I want to check out more of the Dragon Quest games and Chrono Trigger aswell.
Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

Is there a DragonBall-related discussion to be had here? If not, I'll be closing the thread. Thanks!

It seemed to me that this is the only suitable section for this particular (somewhat) DB-related material.VegettoEX wrote:Is there a DragonBall-related discussion to be had here? If not, I'll be closing the thread. Thanks!
If you are referring to other members who went a bit off-topic, actually we could indeed miss the point. However, a closure of this thread would anyway destroy the chance of any interested members to discover the manga or find out what's going on (and actually none yet translated what is written about Akira Toriyama).

My point is that we only really delve into actual DragonBall discussions on this forum. I realize that Blue Dragon is slightly Toriyama-related due to the character designs, but beyond his involvement with the series, it certainly holds no relation to the Dragon World.nikko wrote:It seemed to me that this is the only suitable section for this particular (somewhat) DB-related material.VegettoEX wrote:Is there a DragonBall-related discussion to be had here? May I suggest an "Akira Toriyama" section? A place to discuss his projects, his life, etc.VegettoEX wrote:My point is that we only really delve into actual DragonBall discussions on this forum. We've had very few suggestions for and discussions about any of these "off-topic" areas in the past. Personally, I prefer to keep this material far away, as any inch given to "off-topic" leads to unmanageable nonsense even on the most heavily moderated forums. We are a proud DragonBall community and do what we do best. Unless there comes a point in time where there's simply nothing DragonBall-related to discuss anymore, I simply don't see any compelling reasons to branch out.JAPPO wrote:May I suggest an "Akira Toriyama" section? I understand. Unfortunately, I could not think of any other message board so (active and) dedicated to the main work of Akira Toriyama or one even related to him at all... "thanks" to youngsters who underestimate older anime, Akira Toriyama is cursed to be underrated in the majority of general anime communities. Therefore I thought that daizex would be the ideal place to expose and analyze my recent finding.
If you really think that the thread deserves to be closed, I would be happy to remain a member but not talk about this here anymore. Whatever is the case, I would be grateful if somebody would finally solve the mystery of bd00.jpg.

It vaguely reminds me of Toriyama, so there is a good chance he did it. That would disprove rumors about his death (ha ha ha ha or more accurately for me ja ja ja ja) and stuff. Maybe it also says that some new stuff might be in the works for Toei Animation to get to work on. More cash cow and less original content. They just gave us somthing good, now time to see how the fandom will react prior to the flagship live action movie release. So, Mr. Pavlov do you think the dogs are going to drool again when I ring this bell? Oh well, we'll see and in more ways than just the fandom mind you. We have parents of the fans (a 9 year old is born every minute for goodnessakes! Must appeal to enlargening fanbase!) and grandparents and the cousins and the inbred inlaws. That's how it's gonna happen folks, they are doing an experiment and we are the subjects.VegettoEX wrote:Is there a DragonBall-related discussion to be had here? If not, I'll be closing the thread. I think this is VERY relavent to Dragonball :3

I think that's all of what you wanted. That's about all that was important on the page. Is Takkusan a new Dragon Quest character? Or something else entirely?

I suppose that Takkusan is indeed the blonde kid from the new Dragon Quest arcade, though I cannot find any introduction or appearance in other than the scanned pages. Also, it might be not because it's a -san... wouldn't a kid character be a -chan/-kun?
