Where can I buy those old FUNimation Dragon Ball Z Box Sets?
Hey guys, I've been searching for these box sets for months now. I'm talking about the individual saga box sets that came before the new "Digitally Remastered Season Sets" that FUNi's been puttin' out lately. They were released from 1999/2000-2004, I believe. If anyone could direct me to a legit site that has them, I would be greatly pleased as a fellow DBZ fan. (Okay, that was a little cliche... but please try helping.)

I don't think it'll be easy. My brother gave up on trying to find the box sets and settled on just buying all the singles. Only place you're probably likely to find any these days is ebay.

Hm, pretty true. They are rare nowadays. Wish I would've been able to get them back when I was a youngster, but I had no clue that they would just disappear out of the blue.Tommy wrote:I don't think it'll be easy. It also depends on if you want them brand new or if used is ok. For instance there's a box set of the Cell Games on ebay right now with 3 of the 9 disks being brand new and the rest having been used. Good price though and free shipping.DBZGokuSaiyan wrote:

But as a dub fan, I think I'll still look... since I'm in desperate need of them.
Try MovieStop, if there's one anywhere near you.

Oh wow. Hm, I would be really satisfied if they were brand new... but since they are rare as all hell to find nowadays/if that's the only way... then I guess used would be great, though I'd want them to be Like New/Very Good condition, with nothing missing. (Yeah, I can be a whore when it comes to buying stuff.Tommy wrote:It also depends on if you want them brand new or if used is ok. I'm not too sure if there's any in Illinois, but I'll double-check. I have been hearing about MovieStop a lot lately, but it seems that there's only a few locations throughout the US. I'll double-check just to make sure, though. Thanks for helping!SSj Kaboom wrote:

Yeah, stores don't really carry these any more, so you'll have to buy used. They shouldn't be overly hard to find, especially not online.
I found a used Babidi set at a Rock 30 Games store a week ago, they still pop up every now and then.

This guide might help you some, I made it a long while back, it details every box-set FUNi has released pre-season sets and every other individual DVD that didn't have box-sets. Those're for the Region 1 fullscreen DVDs only, so be aware that such an uncut FUNi release for episodes 28-67 doesn't exist.DBZGokuSaiyan wrote:Hey guys, I've been searching for these box sets for months now. I was lucky enough the nab the majority of mine through this very forum, all the singles from Garlic Jr. to the Anoyoichi Budokai in one fell swoop.
What I didn't get I picked up through Madman as they were clearing out the old stock, I think most of it's gone now, but they might still have a few singles up.

Anime conventions are another place you can find them. Will say, some of those wish hadn't been inbetween jobs at the time otherwise would've gotten them back then.DBZGokuSaiyan wrote:Well, I managed to find the Imperfect Cell saga box set, uncut and completely brand new, for only $50! One down, about eleven more to go....

I was too little back then to really even understand that they would be gone soon.Super Sonic wrote:Anime conventions are another place you can find them. If you are interested, I can put up some of the box sets on eBay. I have no intention to watch them again. I plan to get the new, remastered, widescreen sets. Just about every volume is in excellent condition and most of the sagas are included with the box.
Edit: A few of the box sets are up now.
