Super Dragon Ball Z is my favourite game. I can just easily pick it up and play it anytime. After that, Budokai 3 comes second.
Just another Dragon Ball fangirl in the world.

I'm sure this has been covered before, but what was the deal with the Greatest Hits release? It had some extra character costumes, yes? And did every GH disc contain the Japanese audio or just a certain printing? I'm going to borrow a friend's PS2 and finally catch up on the games I missed (everything since Budokai 2).eienmic wrote:Budokai 3 GH for the win. I remember I bought 3 different copies to get the correct one that actually included the Japanese language track.

I'd probably say Infinite World, with Sparking Meteor coming a close second. Although Infinite World doesn't have the Tournament mode, I love playing as GT Vegeta more, so that sealed it for me. And the odd mini-game now and then can be fun too.
Super DBZ gets a lot of love, but I never really cared for it. I hate the controls. I like my fighting games to be faster and more simple (not that I play many fighting games other than Dragonball fighting games and the first 'Soul' game, 'Soul Edge').

I liked the Wii version of Sparking 2, but for PS2, I'd have to go with Budokai 3 Greatest Hits. I just can't enjoy the Sparking games on the PS2, and Infinite World was one of the worst recent Dragonball games I've played. Oh, and Sagas... terrible (I got it for GCN, but I'm sure my experience was the same as everyone else's).

Super Dragonball Z.
It's the only game I've ever been able to get my friends to pick up and play on a regular basis, forget the Dragonball characters, the game has an intuitive, flexible and fun fighting system, add in the character card element and the ability to inherit moves from other characters and you've got quite the solid fighting game, and to top it off, the European version had the Japanese voicecast and (thank god) a 60hz mode, truly a perfect release in my eyes.
Next would be Budokai 3 GH for me, I own Infinite World, but despite the steps they took in the right direction, it was an incredibly lazy attempt at an update, B3 GH I just have so much of an attachment to, the game has great production values, a solid fighting system and some great graphics (for it's time) It was such a novelty at the time to have a Dragonball game that was actually good.
Anyway, I wont go into the Sparking! series, suffice to say that I clocked the game, unlocked all of the characters and the majority of the capsules and I haven't played it since, I might be more interested if I had someone willing to play vs. mode, because the game is an absolute cakewalk on the hardest difficulty.

I absolutely LOVE that. Having a Videl that can do the Kamehameha is a dream come true. (Although, I've thought about giving her the Masenko instead, for obvious reasons.)Captain Awesome wrote:add in the character card element and the ability to inherit moves from other characters

I would probably have to say Budokai 3. The game is easy to pick up and play. I also love Budokai 1 and 2. I'll even admit that I found Budokai 1 more fun than 2.
Infinite World is pretty good too, but I was disappointed that they removed some of the characters, especially Kid Goku and Uub. I also miss the tournament mode too. Some of those minigames are pretty fun though.
As for the Sparking series, I think Sparking Meteor is the definitive version. There's so many characters and stages to choose from. Plus, I like how you can have 5 on 5 matches. Those are so much fun to do.
Super Dragon Ball Z is pretty good, but the game got old for me pretty quick. The control scheme is okay for me. The only way I'd play the game again is probably with friends. I did like the "sharing moves" thing too.
Sagas was okay, but there were too many glitches and the game was too short. The AI is pretty stupid in that game too. I think Sagas would've been more suitable as an arcade game if the problems had been fixed up.

I personally think Neo is the best of the Sparking! series. I like the level-up system far better in it than in Meteor.

[Offtopic] Wait, so when did Video games start having to last for a month without sleep to be good?
o.o ... [/offtopic]
Super DBZ is the awesome... except for the part where my copy likes to freeze spontaneously. -_-. That, and for some reason I can't quite fathom I keep wanting to jump away as though I'm playing a game I've made, which doesn't work with the controls in Super DBZ, and loh, I get smack'd.
... If a non-glitchy copy were easier to find. -_- it was difficult enough to get that one, or so I heard (since I didn't actually buy my copy...).
I can't tell how I feel about Sparking! Meteor Vs Sparking!. For a while I preferred the first, but I think I'm starting to be vaguely ok with Meteor... Meh *train of thought got lost mid-sentence*.
Sagas... Sagas is more fun after everything's been unlocked and we're just going around fighting things Streets-of-Rage-meets-Gauntlet-style. Except for the part where I'm trying to do a combo, and the other player is spamming supers, and the game slows down and... Blargh! -_-. Actually, that's the most annoying thing about it, in my experience.
Longer...

For whatever reason today I thought playing Infinite World but the game is so God damn awful, specially the story mode (where in the hell are the mini-games?) that I decided to play Super DBZ- best Dragonball game ever! Well it might not be the best (Burst Limit is at the top with it) but is for sure a pretty darn good game. The gameplay is wonderful and pretty complex, contrary to Budokai and Tenkaichi series. The only complain is the lack of Tienshinhan.

Yeah I could see some people having trouble with Infinite World if they can't locate the mini games on the relatively small map.

Heh, that's why I took advantage of the PS3's save transfer abilities and just unlocked em all in one go.
Well, that, and the fact that Omega Shenron is one cheap motherfucker.
