Anyone Still Playing Sparking! METEOR!?
Wondering if anyone is still actively playing this, playing against one another or sharing capsule set ups.

Re: Anyone Still Playing Sparking! METEOR!?
I make no attempt to hide the fact that I've been pretty burned out on these games over the last couple years, and it was really Sparking! METEOR that began the trend of not even finishing the games for me. I still have two characters to unlock (I think Future Gohan and someone else), and just never bothered to do so. I played less and less of each subsequent game (not even just the fighting games).ToshiMustgrind wrote:Wondering if anyone is still actively playing this, playing against one another or sharing capsule set ups.
I occasionally have the urge to bust out one of the three "perfections" within the sub-fighting-genres for the franchise (Budokai 3, Sparking! METEOR, Super DragonBall Z)... but it's very rare.

I'm honestly not even exactly sure when the last time I played my PS2 was... A few months I think.
I really should though, I still haven't finished Final Fantasy X or Dragon Quest VIII!
... Actually, no. Come to think of it, I played some Budokai 3 last week with my cousins 'cause they wanted to play DBZ.

I only bought it quite recently, didn't get the first two games. I've already unlocked every character. It's probably the funnest game on the Wii I own.
Right now I'm trying to get customs set up for every character.
I usually set it up so I can have the Characters at different strengths, during different parts of the series, like this:
Goku (Early)
Custom 1 = Tenkaichi Budokai (Kame Gi)
Custom 2 = Vs. Vegeta (Kaio Gi)
Custom 3 = Vs. Slug, here I gave him Kaio's training and Aura Change Yellow so he's the "False" Super Saiyan that rumor so many fans believe.
Goku (Mid)
Custom 1 = Vs. Ginew (Go Gi)
Custom 2 = Vs. Freeza (Go Gi)
Custom 3 = Cell Games (Blank Gi)
Goku (End)
Custom 1 = Dead with Halo (Bank Gi)
Custom 2 = Vs. Majin Boo (Blank Gi)
Custom 3 = Early GT (Blue Gi))
Vegeta (Scouter)
Custom 1 = Vs. Goku
Custom 2 = Vs. Ginew
Custom 3 = Vs. Freeza
Vegeta
Custom 1 = Vs. Androids
Custom 2 = Vs. Cell
Custom 3 = Cell Games
And so forth.

I used to play it a lot a lot. But I slowed down once I mastered it. I usually reserve playing it for when I have somebody over. And even then it usually only lasts a few games before we switch to Brawl, Left 4 Dead, or Burst Limit.
When I first got it though, I couldn't put it down. It was the most fun I had playing a game since Super Mario 64. This may very well be because I hadn't played the first two or any Budokai games before it. The time I spent playing it, I kept having ideas in what the developers could do for the next game, and I created a video on YouTube. That video had so many views and I wanted to do a video series similar to Zero Punctuation, so I started Budokai Tenkaichi Source.
The videos renewed my interest even further. And caused me to backtrack and try other games to compare and contrast. I picked up Budokai 2 and Tenkaichi 2. And once I got a 360, the first game I bought was Burst Limit. Today I play Burst Limit the most. I love Budokai 2 the best though. Unfortunately, I don't have any friends who like Budokai like me so I'm stuck playing it alone
.
In short. Yes I play Tenkaichi 3 occasionally. But not as often as I used to.
I'm still really hoping for a sequel. There's a lot of potential.

With hope, someone with a lot of influence on the creators of the BT series have seen your videos, and it'd probably make Dragon Ball Z Sparking.... Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 the BEST Dragon Ball Z game, though to be honest, I disagree with a LOT of the Dragon Ball characters being added, the Sparking style is more DBZ and DBGT, it'd be nice to have a few like Young Goku, Piccolo and Chichi, etc, but most others just wouldn't fit in, if there was a DB variant to the game, or if they did make and improved engine for Non flying characters (Why do they mean, NON Flying anyway, they whoosh around the screen like mad...) where they jump high depending on their strength and can't move freely in the air.Innagadadavida wrote:I'm still really hoping for a sequel. I was also kind of disappointed by the Tenkaichi Budoukai stages, they're the exact same stage in different times of the day, they should have all 5 different types of stages...
I'd also be nice if Papaya Island or Papaya city was a stage to play in, and it could be used for the Tenkaichi, only have you lose by a Ring Out if you touch anything but the arena in a Tournament.
DBGT characters must be added... All the villains and all the Heroes.

I played it a lot, unlocked almost everything, but the single-player mode started seriously pissing me off and nobody would play it WITH me, so I mailed it to a friend.
Eventually I'l probably pick it up again.

I don't really play video games that much these days, but if I were to suddenly decide to play one of my few Dragonball games, it would definitely be Sparking! METEOR. Granted, I don't have much to choose from in the way of Dragonball video games, but the game is quick to set up, and somewhat simple to play, so it would definitely be my first choice if I were to whip one out for old times' sake.

As a matter of fact, because I saw you mention this earlier (I started making food before I responded) I popped in Super DBZ! First time in awhile!
WOW it's tricky now! It used to be fairly easy and now it's rather frustrating!
Just the other day I finally unlocked all characters (King Cold = Complete Cell Games on hard. I finally did this with Bardock).
I have had the game for a long time now so other than improving scores and completing Mission 100 and Sim Dragon, I got nothing else to do!
I predict it's jump to Vegeta and Freeza.saiyanprincess wrote:That's a pretty awesome movie!Jackal puFF wrote:The soccer poster in Goku's room might've been for Stephen Chow. Shaolin Soccer?
Oh and to Jappo... I really loved that bad man scene with Bulma as well, Indeed it was a big prompt in the direction of Vegeta. I couldn't help but wink to my mate and poke her in the seat next to me.I think it must have been some sort of reference to the pink bad man shirt! Yay! - I hope they make Vegeta wear the pink bad man shirt when/if they make a new release!
I think another thing which did stand out to me was Goku not having a tail, That was pretty annoying I was quite looking forward to seeing a true Oozaru transformation and not... How it actually happened...
Do you think if there is a next movie Radditz will be featured? Or do you think it will just jump straight to Nappa and Vegeta? Piccolo already knows he is a Namekian which in the anime he does not find out until Radditz comes and makes his entrance. I am beginning to ponder that perhaps Vegeta and Nappa may just randomly come to the planet searching for the dragonballs and drop the rock that Goku is a Saiyan.
I do not believe we will see Radditz or Nappa in the movie... I would be quite surprised actually... and even if they were I imagine they would be so butchered I would have wished not to have ever seen how Hollywood sees these two "classic" characters.
CAREFUL! SPOILERS TO THE FIRST MOVIE BELOW
I could see them write in Radditz's part into Vegeta, making it so Vegeta, the Prince of Saiyan, is looking for his brother, Kakarrot who, together they are the last of there kind. Goku refuses and battles Vegeta.
Vegeta is overpowering and the "Good Piccolo" (which I believe is what the secret ending hinted at in the movie), who has been a sort of "side villian" steps in to fight alongside Goku.
I could see that being the next DB movie
I was agreeing with most everything you said... up until "DBGT character must be added"The Time Traveller wrote:With hope, someone with a lot of influence on the creators of the BT series have seen your videos, and it'd probably make Dragon Ball Z Sparking.... Maybe it's just 'cus I never got into GT and maybe 'cus they style and characters feel a 'lil too alien too me only having been inspired off Toriyama and not created by him but I would rather see more emphases on the original DB series: characters, stories, environments, humor, attacks and so on.
I mean, Kid Goku, Chi Chi, King Piccolo, Blue, Arale, Tambourine, Pilaf Machine No.8 and Nam? Really? No Garren? Bacterial? Young Tien (with the 4 Arm technique too?!) Crane Master? more Red Ribbon and Tournament fighters I say!

Indeed.
I had to get better at the game 'cus I "lost my edge" :-/
Now we will have to see if I still continue to play that game more
Yamcha in these new games is essentially the Yamcha when we was younger anyway.
I just think there is far more to be explored in the original DB world and it just appeals to me more than when I gotta fight and my fighters comes up to the crotch of an eyebrowless Super 17 who looks likes hes about to try to the Village People

Haha that would be amazing! Like if Freeza decides Bacterian is even more fowl than a Saiyan lolThe Time Traveller wrote:I actually think Giran, Rabterian, and Young Tenshinhan would be ok...
I'd be funny to see Freeza or Cell back off in disgust from Bacterian, holding their noses.
Tenshinhan in Dragon Ball was more fun than in Z...
