You should probably be more obvious when you're joking, though, especially considering that there are several other posts in this thread that could also be perceived as jokes, but sadly are not. Like the pertinent issue of OFFENSIVE XXX ANIMATED NUDITY!

In any case, judging by the past sets, we're almost guaranteed a 5.1 dub track, which means we'll be able to get really good rips of the many, many unreleased BGM tracks from the original series. That's something I definitely can't wait for.

I hope that you're right, but with the other sets FUNi had motivation to do a new mix to include the original BGM. DB's English dub always had the Japanese music, so what would entice FUNi this time around to remix the entire series?

I hope I'm wrong...

As an artist I believe there is a difference between nudity and pornography. I also don't get how nudity harms children, but I won't get into that. The point I want to make is that I am free to believe what I wish just like those who don't like nudity are allowed to believe what they are. So we shall not tread on each others' toes while being on this forum. =)

I have no problem with linking nudity/mature content. That's not censoring-at least not in a way to say you can't flatout post any media containing nudity. I am also on a Lupin the Third forum, which has a rule for using links and disclaimers for mature stuff. Warnings and disclaimers are fine with me. It's a perfect balance to keep something uncensored, while informing those who disagree a reason not to look at it.

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but I had to get in my two cents.

Now back on topic. I am actually ecstatic to finally be able to see the original DB in Japanese. Widescreen won't bother me. I just want digitally restored awesomeness and Masako Nozawa. Having all the OP/ED animations will be icing on the cake. =)

In a AMV made by Rocketman, there is a clip of Bulma dressed in the bunny outfit exposing her breasts to the camera in a front shot. Now I don't recall this ever happening. In the Manga it's a side shot, and in my MadMan set it is also a side shot, so where the hell is this clip from?
I don't know, I just happened across the gif.

Wow two sanctimonious temper tantrums in one thread. Well at least KaiHD and Smooth Criminal's did not consist of "stop being a pussy" then them running away, after being called on their bullshit.

I have to ask Kaihd and smooth criminal, how is it female breast offend you yet violence does not?

EDIT: Thats 34 episodes. No problem.
Tao would be a good choice as a villain for the front cover. He was one of the first adversaries that Goku fought who knew how to use Ki. He also had a significant impact on the series even all the way up into Z (well, filler anyway). He'd be a better choice than Krillin. As much as I heart Krillin, he doesn't do much in the second season except help out in the cave.

This is one time where I'm actually hoping FUNimation pulls a "DBZ Season Seven" on us and slaps a random popular character on the cover. Yes, I know it's bad to say, but I want Kuririn to get at least one cover, dangit!

I'm really hoping the remaining four seasons will be Kuririn, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Ma Junior in whatever order would be most fitting.

Okay, but what outfit would Krillin wear? He doesn't wear the red tourney gi in what will be Season 2. He wears his old Oran Temple getup.

I kind of like the idea of all the main guys getting their own covers. Season 3 Yamcha would have to be sporting a bowl-cut. Haha! That might not make it on the cover, FUNimation wouldn't want the series to look dated.

That'd be fine with me. You get kinda tired of seeing the red/orange gi, so another outfit would be just fine, I think. Assuming FUNi did choose the characters I suggested, Kuririn would be most fitting for season two seeing as how Tenshinhan and Piccolo haven't debuted yet and Yamcha does nothing in that arc. Season three could be Yamcha, season four could have Tenshinhan since he plays a big part in the Daimao fight, and season five could have Piccolo since that's his arc. Plus, it would give us that villain shot.

But if we had to have another villain for a cover, I'd instantly recommend Tao Pai Pai, the coolest one in the series, IMO.

Good god guys, really? I have no issue with Bulma's boobs or anything, but there are good reasons to want to have a disclaimer that have nothing to do with being a prude. Say oh they're NSFW. I DO browse these forums from work at times. Now if I clicked on a thread about "Bulmas censored brests!" yeah, thats asking for it and warning enough, but this is a thread about Dragon Ball season 1. It's not unreasonable to ask that a warning be stated before you post something thats NSFW. People can, and have, lost jobs over stuff like that, so think about that next time you throw a fit for someone asking for a warning.

Yes, Dragon Ball has nudity, that is HARDLY a DEFINING characteristic of a discussion about a first season DVD boxed set that one should reasonably expect to see pictures of that.

To the actual topic: The fact that we're FINALLY getting these episodes uncut on DVD is a HUGE cause for celebration. These episodes are WHY I became a fan in the first place, and until it comes out, all I have is the six VHS tape set of the censored dub of them. Thank GOD this is finally coming out!

Yamcha seeing Bulma in the shower during those first thirteen episodes might be a cause for such a discussion.

And stop being a lazy ass! Get back to work! :P

I'm on my lunch break, on a company provided cyberstation that allows me to browse the internet on my Lunch. So I'm in my rights. :P

And yes, there's a shower scene in Dragon Ball season one. Thats still not a defining characteristic of a topic about DB season one. Not saying it can't be posted, but a warning would have been nice. >.>

Thats not what either of them said. They were crying saying it was immoral. If someone is offended by cartoon boobies (and lovely ones at that) then they deserve to be offended.

I used to not post the pictures themselves, but one of the most recent discussions of nudity and Dragonball contained some of the pictures we've posted in this thread and there was never a cause for alarm that time. Of course, you actually gave a good reason (NSFW) as to why there should be some warning (or maybe the addition of SPOILER TAGS to this forum) rather than just being a prude about it. So, I'll keep it in mind next time.

This time, however, I'm not editing it unless someone such as Mike tells me to or does the edit himself. What's done is done and I'm not going to pretend it never happened.

This is what I've been saying too! We're FINALLY getting a nice, solid and accessible re-release of these episodes (and the series in general) after many years. Who GIVES A DAMN about whatever the argument here was.

I never, nor will demand an edit from you. That'd just be silly, it's pretty burried in the thread, most people have already passed it by. I was just standing up for the idea in general. I also think those asking didn't do themselves any favors in the way they asked you to do that in the future.

There's a world of a difference in being an indignant self righteous jerk, and asking for a concession for a good reason. :)

Hahaha, like I said I was just trying to say what was being asked for wasn't unreasonable (just the WAY it was being asked for).

But GOD. Seeing this a reality is almost as mind blowing as it was when I saw Mega Man 9 announced. Its one of those things you gave up on then all of a sudden WHAM there it is!
