Hahaha! I think I've found an error!

Post by Chibi Mystic Gohan » Thu Dec 16, 2004 2:04 am

The Android battle was on May 12th.
3 days later, Goku is healthy again. This is now May 15th.
The next day, Vegeta fights Cell, blah blah blah.
On the day of the Cell Games, it says "Until finally, the dawn of M___ 17th arrived"
Well it doesn't tell us the month, but it has an 'M' in it, that's all we know. The date should actually be May 26th, 10 days after Vegeta fights Cell.
So it can't be the 17th of any month...

Ah, interesting
Isn't May also the month the Tenkaichi Budoukais were usually held in?

That's what the Daizenshuu timeline says, but I don't think it was stated in the manga.

What exactly does "it" refer to? Where are you getting all this?

"It", as in, the manga. The narration says "Until finally, the dawn of M___ 17th arrived"

I always wondered about that, too. I also wonder why Viz put "M___." It would make more sense to leave it as M, as in the way it is in tankoubon #33. Another thing that doesn't make sense is that Cell said something like "In nine days, on M 17..." when it is later said to be ten days. I'm too lazy to check my Viz comics, and this misunderstanding is probably just my poor translating.

It's not your poor translation skills, it actually says "M. 17th." I think Toriyama was wondering that too, though, because in the revised version of the manga, it now says "May 26th," which makes a whole lot more sense. :?

I've been wondering, why didn't they just say "May"? This happened in YuYu Hakusho volume 2 also. They were only saying the first letters of two schools.

So the original manga was wrong, the daizenshuu got it right, and Toriyama fixed it for the kanzenban.

That's freakin' gold.

Akira admitted he wrote the final two sagas lazily, there's a lot more errors than that.

Err... no... it's about being intelligent and respecting the original author. Not sure what forums you've been to, but I don't harass people.

Well, I've never met an administrator who made another member feel like an ass for using the word "Akira", have you?

Probably because you've never met an administrator over the age of 14. There's something to be said for being educated and respectful of the original author. It's a fine change of pace from mindless forums spouting out disrespectful garbage by calling him simply by his first name. He ain't anyone's damn buddy.

I never claimed to know or even have met the guy. I'm not calling him my old college chum, I simply used the name his mother gave him.

What the Hell? Not are you disrespecting Toriyama-sama, the creator of everything Dragon Ball, but this forum's owner and administrator as well? Where do you get off, poser?

(takes a deep breath and reminds his personality not to change)

Anyway, to get to the point of the topic, I did find it rather strange that the date was messed up in the original. When I first read it, I was racking my brain trying to figure out what it meant.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

I'm not disrespecting anybody. I don't like the fact that I was shown up the way I was for saying a damned name. Seriously, would he really be offended that I called him "Akira"?

Don't assume you know what you're talking about. I didn't use his first name as a sign of disrespect, nor did I use it as a sign that I am his friend. I used it because it's his damned name.

Get over yourselves.
