I really hope they release Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans even if it is in subtitles. I can't wait! I jizzed my pants on the spot when I saw this release became a reality.

Does Toei have the rights to that footage? If so I can't see why Funi couldn't get it from them. If they obtained the Dragonbox masters just about anything is possible.

This really all seems like an elaborate joke to me still. If you would have told me the Dragonbox footage was coming to America a month ago I would have said you were an idiot.

I know everybody loves to cite this and the Nappa image as examples of the horrible remastering job. And the fact that this problem occurs at all sucks pretty hard; it looks awful. But in defense of the bricks, this occurance is pretty rare and is only in the first three sets.

My thoughts exactly... I can generally justify the odd impulse buy, but I clearly need to start saving up (or feeding money into pre-orders) ASAP.

And, for the record, WHAT THE HELL?????????

If you were to go back about 2 years and ask me what products I never expected us to get, I'd probably say "The Daizenshuu, the Dragon Boxes, and it doesn't look good for the Pilaf Saga."

I am so fricken' glad I was completely wrong :D

EDIT: Regarding that brick screencap- I know some people have a keener eye, and it basically ruined the product for them. But I will say those were basically flickers of crap, and not indicative of the overall look of the releases. I'm not defending the errors, just saying that many of these I personally either missed or thought were minor enough to let go, and they negative impact doesn't truly stand out until you catch a screencap and just look at the particular error in question.

To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

It's never been dubbed out of Japan, oddly enough...

It happens every time the screen shakes which isn't exactly a scarce occurrence really. It can be seen a little in the 4th set too, Trunk's SSJ transformation is a scene I watched recently where this ordeal was a dilemma.

I remember seeing that shot of Goku's face on my DVD before seeing it on the boards and literally dying of laughter. And cursing FUNimation at the same time.

Uhhh... no, actually it doesn't happen every time the screen shakes. I remember watching it thinking, "Oh no, the screen is shaking, be prepared for missing lines," and was surprised to find quite a few times that the missing lines were either (A) not missing at all, or (B) very minor and hardly noticeable; only visible for split seconds.

The worst couple of times is when the screen shakes with Nappa and this scene. There are a few other huge ones that look terrible but I don't remember them all.

It extends into season six.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Our definition of "hardly noticeable" may be different from each other. I will admit it's a lot better then how it was in season 1 or season 2 but I still find it extremal glaring when it does happen and it seems to happen often, maybe you just don't pick up on it.

It is. I just love that shot. The scene does look better in motion though.

The thing that really sucks for me is the first three sets pretty much contain my favorite part of the entire series. With the lines as well as the horrible coloring for Season 2 and part of Season 3, I just can't stand those things.

I actually found those at Encyclopedia Dramatica.
